On one thing specialists do agree: found at high altitude, far from the nearest settlement or the nearest river, this must have been a ritual burial site. A final, quiet resting place for Teutonic warriors.

In the future, I hope specialists who dig through our trash dumps and junk yards come to a reasonable conclusion and don't assume the sites are of any religious or sentimental value.

Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if our future descendants come to the conclusion that we worship our vehicles, going so far as to build templed into our homes to protect the vehicles from the elements, and offering burning naphtha to the vehicles as our ritual offerings.
