All: There is some confusion on this thread. What he is objecting to is not that he wasn't notified 3 years ago but that he as Mayor now wasn't notified prior to Bush announcing this. Perhaps Bush's staff should have thought of that as a courtesy. OK. I'll concede that. But announcing now that he wasn't in the loop today prior to Bush's announcement makes him look even worse.
I'm surprised he would admit it he is so unimportant that he wasn't contacted.

Dems have become the Whinocrat Party.

White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said California was notified.

"... my understanding was that we did reach out to officials in California and Los Angeles to let them know, I think it was yesterday, that the president would be talking about this. And the word I heard was that there was great appreciation for the notification that we provided," he said during a White House briefing.
