I live in the Bay Area, so that doesn't sound so good. However, I am in agreement with you that this country needs to get serious about these issues, or, continue to ignore them at their own peril. I don't disagree with Tancredo, I am just a realist looking at the country's current politcal climate.

I gotcha ya ... but like you said it WILL take a big event and that event WILL happen in the near future (2, 3, 5 years). At that point it will galvanize the majority of public opinion, but as usual for America it will be too little too late.
