There are very high standards of operation of organic farmers versus mass market vegetable farming. Chichis does NOT use organic vegetables and organic famers can't use human sludge for fertiliser. So you know where that hep c came from, it came from human fecal matter from badly washed scallions. Onions and root vegetables are the worst offenders too. If you like to eat out, I'd never eat salad from a restaurant.
I can give you facts about the pesticides used in conventional farming but the proof is eating a tomato grown yourself without any toxic poison and a storebought tomato. If you're serious about investigating organic produce, well we can talk off thread. I grow my own whatever I don't grow, I buy from Pathmark or if I'm desperate, Whole Foods.

It specifically mentions fumonisin.
The main reason store bought tomatoes are so vile is that they are bred for mechanical harvesting. Not because pesticides, fertilizers, etc are used on them. If you planted the same plants/seed in your garden, and did not use the pesticides or non organic fertilizers, they'd still be vile.
My Dad used to grown great tomatoes, or so I'm told, I'm not very fond of tomatoes myself, at least not to eat by themselves. His secret, other than a careful choice of tomato plants? His fully organic fertilizer, AKA pigeon poop, and later chicken shit. His fertilizer came from his coops. Of course you pretty much had to wear a dust mask when "collecting" that stuff, which I did, many a summer. Nothing like a hot coop full of pigeon poop dust, which you are deliberately stirring up as you scrape it off.
I've not heard of Pathmark. It is strictly an organic store?
