Top radio talker Rush Limbaugh, in a rare TV appearance on Fox News Channel - opened the clip and unloaded his rapid-fire opinions on a host of topics, political and otherwise.
Limbaugh, interviewed by Fox host Neil Cavuto, blasted Democrats for being "a bunch of cowards for their seemingly endless attacks on President Bush, Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito and others.
Limbaugh reserved particular contempt for former President Jimmy Carter and his inappropriate comments made at Coretta Scott King's funeral celebration. "I think Coretta Scott King and MLK Jr., if there is to be any anger from above looking down at that event, it would be from them, Limbaugh said. "For a former president, no less, to take these cheap partisan shots, makes the Democrats look like the angry people that they really are ... mean-spirited, discourteous and wrong.
Limbaugh said Democrats and Republicans should hold to what they truly believe stick to the ideology and engage in healthy debate. Doing so, he said, would reveal the character of people in each party and the message behind the party platforms that are often obscured and distorted in media reports.
"We all want prosperity, liberty and freedom, educational opportunity and safety for our kids, but there are different ways of getting these things, Limbaugh said. "Liberals think theyre smarter than you and have to make all the decisions. Conservatives trust average, everyday, ordinary Americans to make important decisions for themselves.
Other random thoughts from Limbaugh:
On Democrats:
"The Enemies List for Democrats includes ExxonMobil, any pharmaceutical company, Wal-Mart ... Anything or anybody that defines success in this country.
On Sen. Hillary Clintons possible White House run:
"There was a recent poll that showed 51 percent of the American people definitely would not vote for Hillary Clinton. She will try to pretend she is moving to the middle on issues, but there is a new media out there today that does not let the major media get away with defining the news for everyone as they did in the past ... She will probably redefine negative politics.
On the war in Iraq:
"How do you triangulate the war? How do you triangulate terrorism? Youre either for it or youre against it, whether you like to admit it or not.
On the theory that conservative Republicans must move to the center on policies:
"Screw the moderates. Conservatives win when they are conservative. They dont win by moderating their views. People today are hungry for ideology.
On his own personal investments:
"I live off my income. My investment portfolio is very conservative with lots of municipal funds. Im well over 50 percent in munis and real estate investments and I dont tap it. Im patient. Im not looking for the overnight income. I know Ill be working tomorrow because I love what I do.
In other news, the sun rose in the east this morning, and water continues to flow downhill...

Mega-w00t. And NOBODY wins national elections when they run as liberals.
Rush Limbaugh appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto this afternoon via Pebble Beach, California. Limbaugh took the day off from excellence in radio broadcasting to play some golf. On Cavuto’s show, Limbaugh discussed the Muslim cartoon outrage and the Coretta Scott King “funeral” that turned out to be a Bush bashing free for all.
Ya hear that, you centrist-moderate FReepers.
Go Rush Go!!!
Dark tonight followed by light tomorrow.
Water remains wet, and the moon is expected to look slightly different tonight than it did the night before.
"Screw the moderates. Conservatives win when they are conservative."
Agreed. Being a majority party is over-rated. We need to dump the RINOs so the Dems can start impeachment hearings...
LOL...
Indeed, this just in, eh.
A study released yesterday claims that fire is hot, and that things fall to the ground when you drop them. Also, sources say that being punched in the face hurts.
NEWS FLASH: RINO`s aren't the base of the GOP. Conservatives make up the GOP`s base voting block. Reagan governed as a conservative and the 1995 GOP Congress rode the conservative Contract With America to victory. Conservatism sells, if you have the right salesmen pitching it. Rush is the right salesman. What Rush is saying is simple. When conservatives moderate their views, they lose. That's been the case over the last five years. Especially on domestic issues.
No, the RINOs need to stop being RINOs and start being conservatives. If McCain ever figures out that the MSM is NOT his constituency, he'll be significantly better off.
And "munies" are tax free, or taxed VERY little. :-)
When Jimmy made the comment about the wire tapping of MLK, I took it as an attack on the Kennedy family. Remember, this was done by JFK/RFK, and Teddy ran against Jimmy in the 1980 primary. Jimmy is still bitter about getting his butt kicked by Ronald Reagan. He holds a grudge against America, and is doing everything he can to screw the country.
So Rush lives off his income. He squeaks by on $25 mil per and leaves his hundreds of millions in munis. No wonder so many jealous libs (and more than a few jealous freepers) hate him.
Total crap. They both would have approved. Here is a quote from a NYT story on the Muslim cartoon thing: "Islam is protected by an invisible blasphemy law," said Jasper Gerard, a columnist in The Sunday Times. "It is called fear." The same sort of thing is working here.
Actually, many democrats are bordering on being a bunch of traitors these days.
coward dean and traitor kerry have already crossed that border, IMHO.
