I have never heard of +P+ in .45ACP, even for cops, but, I'm not a cop.

I've only actually seen it in 9mm. I shouldn't have implied otherwise. I immediately figured that the chamber failure was caused by excessive pressure and assumed the use of +P+.

They do make them in .45, hydrashock made by Federal and SXT made by Winchester and Cor-bon
Most guns cannot handle that kind of pressure but that ammo is available.

nobody makes a +P+ for .45acp. they do make it for .38special, 9mm and .38super. there IS however, a company down in TX that's making a .45super. the .45super uses the same size case as .45acp, and could be accidentally loaded into a regular .45 acp gun. but it's unlikely due to the fact that .45 super is not popular.
you can load your own .45acp to +P+ levels, but you're going to be spending alot totally rebuilding your gun so it will take the pressures.
