Michael B. Wallace is a partner in the Jackson, Mississippi, office of Phelps Dunbar. His practice is concentrated in commercial and constitutional litigation, with special emphasis on appeals in both the state and federal systems. Mr. Wallace served as a law clerk to Justice Harry G. Walker of the Supreme Court of Mississippi and to Justice William H. Rehnquist of the United States Supreme Court. After practicing law in Biloxi, he served as counsel to Representative Trent Lott. He was chairman of the Legal Services Corporation under Presidents Reagan and Bush and served for ten years as a member of the Administrative Conference of the United States. He served as Special Counsel to Senator Lott for the impeachment trial of President Clinton, and he represents the Mississippi Republican Party in the ongoing Congressional redistricting litigation. Mr. Wallace received his B.A. in government from Harvard and his J.D. from the University of Virginia, where he served on the law review.
