The Admin has known all this all along, but why would they sit on the info? Is it to avoid dragging Russia into this?
I doubt the Russian angle, but I think there is a lot of resistance in the bureaucracy that has a lot invested in the conclusions of the Iraq Survey Group. The intellegence bureaucracy that is suppose to aid the administrations policies is not uniform in its support to administration policy. There are factions against the Iraq War and the have been and will continue to be corrosive of those efforts.
There is also the natural tendency to back those positions they put forth in the first place.
...why would they sit on the info...?
I remember reading two years (?) ago about satellite imagery of convoys moving to Syria a few days or weeks before Operation Iraqi Freedom. Am I right Freepers?
My guess as to why the Bush Administration is sitting on the disclosure of the WMD is to save it for the mid-term elections during the second Bush 43 term. It'll be a great first salvo over the bow of the Democrat Party ship that is already beginning to take on water.
As ever President Bush is proving to be the Great Poker Player that he is known to be. He has been stringing the Democrats along these past couple years and they ain't going to like this when the news comes out February 17th!
Yes, yes,and yes again.....my read anyway.....we're covering Russia's hand in developing all of that stuff for Iraq and Syria....In return they helped get it out and it wasn't used on our forces....Now, the Left just keeps swallowing the bait, the up-chuck should be delightful....
