The WMD's existed - they just were not found in Iraq!

That's because they were moved!

It can't be anymore simple than that! So .. saying there were NO WMD's is a falsehood - there were - they just weren't where everybody thought they were - in Iraq.

Syrians have had plenty of their own WMDs for decades...

They certainly did. My personal guess is that some, at least, of this material wasn't being sent to Syria as much as it was being returned to Syria.

That said, it won't matter to the propagandists in the MSM. For the last three years they might have been asking what happened to the stuff that the UN had already discovered but that we haven't located yet. I'm kind of curious about the 10,000 liters of anthrax slurry, for one. Story One is that it was treated with a chemical, transported to the desert somewhere, and dumped. Story Two is that it never existed in the first place and that the UN inspectors were either mistaken or lying. Neither is especially likely, IMHO.

There is only one operating criterion within most of the MSM these days - "does this story make Bush look bad?"

>>>Loftus was very clear that they are explosive. <<<

I want very much to believe that the WMD's are in Syria ....however one might be wise to view with caution anything Loftus is promoting. I have read that he has been on the wrong side of a number of WOT issues and may have an agenda not served by absolute candor.

I would welcome comments from anyone with information about his veracity.

That said....I trust US Congressman Pete Hoekstra of Michigan... he is a straight shooter and if he has vetted Loftus's stuff...I'm a believer.

It would be very sweet if WMD's sitting in the sand of Syria could be proved....and that the UN and friends missed their....ahaaa....repositioning.

Since I'm late to the thread and have not the time to read all the posts, I would certainly like to make sure that Vlad Pootster is NOT America's friend.

The Soviet Russian leadership is aligned with Communist China and nearly all of America's other mortal enemies and they have all played America's leadership for fools, for too long.

Loftus has maintained for some time that there were WMD transfers to Syria prior to the war. If he has overstated the importance of these tapes, what credibility he has will be shot.

He is really out on a limb here. I don't know why he would go this far if he wasn't sure of what he had.

Yes, yes,and yes again.....my read anyway.....we're covering Russia's hand in developing all of that stuff for Iraq and Syria....In return they helped get it out and it wasn't used on our forces....Now, the Left just keeps swallowing the bait, the up-chuck should be delightful....

Not to mention that the President has been letting his people back-pedal on WMD's since....oh, March of 2003.

The thing that bothers me most is that this Administration never seems to have had any dedicated follow-up. But it has always been allowing and cooperating with the cover-ups. From the Xlinton's skull-duggery before-during-and-after their occupancy in the White House, and on to the French, Germans and Kofi Annan who were implicated neck-deep in Saddam's UN Oil-For-Fraud program.

GWB is giving them all a pass. How nice of him to ignore his duty and oathe of office, to turn the official "cheek" for us.

Look at how Colin Powell was cozying up to Assad after the invasion. What was that about?! Whenever there is some nonsensical, counterintuitive, anti-common-sense position taken by the Administration, I assume that it is either a cover-up of some 'ally' interest...or we just have a raft of traitors too numerous to count.

Wouldn't it be fun to hear a portion of these tapes at Saddams trial?
