It does appear that it's been denounced by the catholic church, however, the fact remains that the pictures I've seen were from some religious parade in the Philippines and it was labeled a catholic procession and that is where the self flagellation was taking place. So we are both correct.

And I've seen parades in Northern Ireland labeled a "Protestant parade" where they throw Molotov cocktails and shoot at Catholics. So does that mean violence should be pinned on the Protestant church? Your logic is faulty.

Your anti-Catholic prejudices are peeking through. I find it interesting that you do not capitalize the word Catholic. That means you must agree that the Catholic Church is indeed "catholic" - meaning universal or worldwide. It's called that because there was only one Christian church for centuries until some men decided to form their own religions. The Catholic Church is the only Christian denomination founded by Jesus Christ - the rest of them were founded by Martin Luthor, John Knox, Calvin and the rest.

Actually, it's your prejudice that is peeking through. You're the one that continues to attempt to deflect attention to the catholic church by shifting attention to the protestant church...you've done it in both of your posts to me so far. You seem incapable of addressing the topic without bringing up some other unrelated topic...that is exactly how liberals argue...they attempt to justify or defelect attention by changing the subject.

I find it interesting that you do not capitalize the word Catholic.
