I think it is important to point out that the original charge that Deutsch required 'theory' behind big bang as some way to push a right-wing, anti-science, fundy agenda doesn't hold water when you look at his press releases:

Most of these were released by Deutsch and some even relate to evolution, yet don't tout any religious or anti science 'terms'..
This article actually directly refutes that Deutsch required 'theory' after 'big bang':

It seems to me, this entire story has been generated by one blog after another playing the old children's game, pass the story.. That plus the lefts attempt to be relevant. They continually shout nonstories. If there's no crisis they enter meltdown.
