So what.
BFD.
WGASA?
That's a heck of a vetting process we have going on at the moment. We nominate Ms Smith off the street for the Supreme Court and appoint lying college drop-outs for heading up positions in NASA. Whoever came up with the vetting process for nominations and appointees needs to be fired and replaced with someone who actually does more than 5 minutes of research and investigating before advising the President.
He probably subscribes to the "theory" that learning penetrates his thick skull by divine will, therefore no effort on his part is necessary.
Do you think he'll get 3 bogus purple hearts for it?
Double so what.
At least we get rid of ours; you try to elect yours president.
Any time you're in a position to hire someone, it takes just a few minutes to confirm the applicant's education. Just call the registrar of wherever he said he went. Done and done.
Hey I didn't graduate from A&M either - I wonder if I could get this job???
I like a big bang now and then even if it is in theory.
And good riddance to him
God knows the democRATs don't have any of those.
Oh yeah MM, every dem appointed position is pristine clean too. This guy was probably a plant by Hurricane Dean to make the President look bad:)
Well, you've finally won me over. I'm changing my registration right away.
Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Bush lied! Did I get it right? Can I register at DU now?
Corzine picked Zulima in spite of the knowledge that she has a dozen traffic tickets, three suspensions of her license and even two warrants for her arrest for disregarding the tickets on her record.
But that sort of crap is normal for Democrats. Zulima is currently happily ensconced in her new plush Trenton offices, making sure the laws are enforced.
At least he was not running for President:
During the campaign, Gore had to respond to numerous allegations that he "padded" his resume by implying in campaign materials that he served in combat in Vietnam when in fact he had been a reporter for the Army's 20th Engineer Brigade. He was also criticized for claiming -- in error -- that his work with an investigative newspaper had resulted in indictments and imprisonment of several Nashville city officials.
Or a Chinese spy:
"A glimpse at the background of Yah Lin 'Charlie' Trie reveals that the Taiwanese immigrant worked at his Chinese restaurant in Little Rock, Ark., before opening a small consulting office in Beijing in late 1992 when his friend of 13 years, Bill Clinton, was elected President. "But his resume became much grander after a major make-over by the Clinton administration's Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. In papers prepared by the agency, Trie became an authority on international trade relations and a key player in building economic bridges between the United States and Asia.
"Trie possesses 'special expertise' and 'substantial knowledge and/or experience' on U.S. barriers to Asia markets, one USTR document declared. His participation on a White House advisory panel on trade with Pacific nations was proclaimed 'essential to the United States.' "A certain amount of puffery is not uncommon in Washington, particularly for political appointments made to myriad boards and study groups created to explore policy issues. However, newly available records obtained by The Times show that the White House went to extraordinary lengths to promote and place Trie, now a central figure in federal and congressional probes into allegations of espionage and illegal fundraising, on the Presidential Commission on U.S. Trade and Investment Policy.
"To give Trie the position, according to e-mail messages, Clinton signed an executive order in January 1996, expanding the membership of the commission, which was already full. Then Trie was able to serve even though U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky refused to sign a required waiver discounting any problem with potential conflicts of interest, according to government memos marked 'highly confidential.'
... Mr. Deutsch played a small but significant role in an intensifying effort at the agency to exert political control over the flow of information to the public
Yes, they stick it to Bush.
Lying about one's education is indeed cheap and tawdry, and merits dismissal. My only complaint is that these things don't get the same press exposure when a Democrat is involved. For example, how much coverage has the NYT given to the Democratic Party operatives in Milwaukee who slashed the tires of Republican election workers on the eve of the 2004 elections? Then there are major liberal columnists such as Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd have repeatedly been caught in flat-out lies, not just partisan spin, and do so with impunity. Indeed, they win awards.
Bump for later.. maybe misinformation from NYT.. checking A&M Archives..
