The heart of the corruption bedeviling America is our leviathan government. A wasteful and overbearing nanny state is the source of the legions of lobbyists that infest our capital.Well worth repeating. Giving tax dollars to politicians is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.

It seems this behavior just gets worse with seniority. The two most senior U.S. senators also rank as the worst abusers of earmarking appropriations to their home states.
That is how they become senior senators..$SR.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000.00 of our money.

Term limits, although I believe it's time has come, isn't going to fly with the guys/gals already in Washington. Members of the house shouldn't be allowed to raise funds outside their district nor senators outside their state. That would make them solely accountable to the people that elect them. No amendment should be allowed to be placed upon a bill unless it is germane to the original legislation. Absolutely no earmarks period. If you think the bacon you want for your state/district is legit, how about having a vote on it for a change?
