gee thats a switch....a mosque used to hide weapons...

as i recall when they raided in 2003, this caused uproar across the muslim world because of the 'insensitivity'

i guess killing infidels is not insensitive...

Killing infidels is pretty much required from what I've read of the koran.

Among the haul - some of which was found close to Abu Hamza's office - were chemical warfare protection suits, pistols, CS spray and a stun gun. A gas mask, handcuffs, hunting knives and a walkie-talkie were also found.

With the exception of the handcuffs, stun gun and CS, I've got all this stuff myself.

Read the whole article, and not one isolated line. Then see my post 15.

The new trustees were part of the original trustees who were kicked out by Abu Hamza al-Masri for being moderates.

They were the ones who first started complaining about him and reported him to the authorities.

That's encouraging.

We need more of that, from Islamic communities everywhere in the West. And governmental officials who take heed.

Geeze, is there any mosque that doesn't come with its own hate literature, weapons cache, and even bio-weapons? Methinks its part of the design spec.

Why did it take the British govenrnment so damn long to bring this scumbag and his mosque down? And why didn't a Briton with a gun or machete take care of Hamza years ago, when he made it clear he was an enemy in their midst?

Mosque = Terrorist headquarters.

Maybe at one time it didn't but today it does. Close down all the Mosques in western society until things change. This is a war and our enemies do not deserve an advantage.

When we went into Iraq and the terrorists were hiding in the Mosques, all I heard was stupid $%^%$^ like I think the U.S. Army may have knocked a shingle off that Mosque because their bomb went off too close to it. This will piss the terrorists off.

If I knew they were in there I would have blown the thing up and moved on to the next target. Sooner or later the would have stopped hiding in them.

I may be misinformed but that's the way I see it.

For the same reason cops don't always arrest the kids peddling crack on a street corner if they think surveillance will lead them to the bigger fish.

Mosques are not places of worship. That notion must be dispelled immediately.

re :Why did it take the British govenrnment so damn long to bring this scumbag and his mosque down? .

A number of reasons.

1) During the Cold War after the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan it was perceived that Islamic fundamentalism could be used as a weapon against the Communist threat which was a very real threat then.

2) As the Communist threat receded we still hada Major war on terror to fight in North Ireland, at the same time assets were still needed to monitor the reduced communist threat and also the new threat from militant Animal Rights groups.

3)With the Irish and ALF threat diminishing and the Muslim threat growing assets were moved into monitoring the situation, the Mosque was seen as a honey trap allowing the extremists to be more closely monitored.

Finally Britain has a history of allowing groups to reside in Britain as long as they don't cause trouble in Britain, this attitude streching right back to the 19th Century.

The Cable Street siege was when a group of Russian anaracists plotting the overthrow of the Tsar shot a British policeman forcing the authorities to act.
