ABC News Radio Silent on Bush-Bash at King Service
Newsbusters.org ^ | 7 February 2006 | Dave Pierre

Today's (Tuesday February 7, 2006) tasteless anti-Bush digs at Coretta Scott King's memorial service by Rev. Joseph Lowery and Jimmy Carter, a former President (!), are certainly newsworthy, but one place you didn't here about them was during the 5 pm PST (8 pm EST) headlines on ABC News Radio. Instead, the announcers highlighted the fact that several Atlanta schools had the day off to make the day "educational."

It looks like additional education was delivered today through a lesson in classic media bias-by-omission.

Jimmy Carter proves once again that he's the scum of the earth for disrespecting Mrs. King...and what sort of a "reverend" would possibly disrespect the dead that way? He's no Christian...his actions prove it.

Is this like KABC Talk Radio? If so it's been all over the radio. But then I was listening to Hannity and Larry Elder where it was the main topic.

I see Sean Hannity's "scumkick" trying to play it off as all republican imagination and guilt.

If they had mentioned them, they would have just played the attacks, so I'm not complaining.

I listened to a station that plays ABC radio news all day today and not only did they not mention the bashing but they started each news cast with an audio clip of Bush. Very odd, even for them, but I guess they had something to hide.

Well, the gutter-trash ThugoRats are good at using deaths and funerals as platforms for their sick, perverted agenda. They are becoming quite expert at it -- and of course, the media is not going to call these criminal maggots what they are, so it is left to us here at FR.

The complicit MSM, the excrement eaters for the liberal left, just keep throwing water on the anti-American fire of the liberal radical left.

CBS network also. the MSM has made a consicous decision (after getting their DNC faxes thie afternoon) to bury this part of the story, they must have made a calculation that they feel it will hurt them. hopefully, talk radio will pick up on this lack of coverage by the MSM, and push on this hard again tomorrow.

We're talking about those national headlines that you hear at the top of every hour. There's usually about 3 or 4 minutes of news.

Corretta Scott King was just a grifter married to an anti-American communist criminal. Most of the "preachers" present today, like Cowrey, are nothing but hate-merchants getting rich off the white man's guilt.

I think Carter is becoming senile....when my mother got old, she became a cranky old woman, nothing like the woman I knew growing up. She complained a lot and said unkind things. Not making excuses for Jimmy, but it could be a reason. Otherwise he was being a total prick.

It's partisan but I think there's another element. It was (sshh)(whisper) a "black" event. (whisper) We must not offend this group with any negative statements.

They are racist cowards by handling the coverage difference based on the color of the skin of the deceased and her husband. It's despicable and certainly not what MLK would have wanted.

You have my understanding and sympathy. My mother is becoming the same way. The only time she expresses any joy is when something bad happens to Bush, a Republican or our troops. And she loves Jimmy Carter.

It's getting harder to remember the dear sweet mother who raised me.

I have a theory that Carter knows most Americans despise him as much as they loved Ronald Reagan. That's why he hates America so much.

Well, with or without an excuse he's a total prick. He may have an excuse if he's senile, but he's still a prick. If he seeks some medical help for his senility I'll cut him some slack, but otherwise he's just a jerk...and in any case, he was disrespectful of Mrs. King. I hope people are wise enough to stop inviting him to public events if he's going to continue to make an ass of himself.

As usual, it's up to conservative talk radio to get the word out.

It doesn't fit with their political biases. The last thing they want to do is point out how rude and extreme the Democrats are. Of course, if a GOP personality tried to pull something like this, it'd be all they talked about for weeks.
