FAIRFAX, Va. - A CIA worker was arrested and charged with being a serial burglar responsible for more than a dozen incidents near the spy agency's headquarters.
Fairfax County police said Tuesday that George C. Dalmas III had been charged with 17 burglaries in McLean, Va., between October and last month. Dalmas, 44, of Falls Church, faced numerous counts of burglary and grand larceny, and investigators said other charges were possible.
Investigators said Dalmas was tracked down after a Jan. 24 robbery at the home of Lori Myer, who was able to give police information from the license plates of the suspect's getaway car.
The CIA said Dalmas, an administrative employee, was suspended without pay and the agency was cooperating in the investigation.
Real secret agents have changing plates.
Well, this certainly increases my confidence in the caliber of employees hired by the CIA.
So, the CIA has the duty to protect America by seeking intelligence information about foreign powers or foreign threats to our nation?
It seems "CIA" actually stands for "Clowns Idiots & A$$es."
Oh crap! I hope this wasn't another one of those top secret, "covert", "undercover" double secret probation super spies like Valerie Plame. Here we go again.
"A CIA worker was arrested and charged with being a serial burglar responsible for more than a dozen incidents near the spy agency's headquarters."
Larry C. Johnson?
Has George C. Dalmas III or any member of his family ever said an unkind thing about President Bush? If so, we need to appoint a prosecutor to find out if someone in the Fairfax County police force (some Republican, that is) "outed" him in retaliation.
I wonder if he had access to personnel files or other useful info that he could sell to support his bad habits.
Mom Tells Story of Confronting Suspected BurglarMcLEAN, Va. - The mom who helped police catch a serial burglary suspect is telling her side of the story.
Lori Myer of McLean got home one day and saw a man in a black jacket come charging down her stairs. She screamed, and so did her eight-month-old son. And while they were outside trying to recover, she says the suspect walked past her.
So Myer flagged down a minivan and got in with her son. They took off in pursuit, tailing the suspect's car until they got enough information to lead police to George Dalmas III.
Dalmas is an administrative employee at the CIA. He's accused of 17 burglaries in the McLean area. The CIA has suspended him without leave.
Myer realizes how dangerous it could have been following a suspect --- Fairfax County police actually advise against it.
