What a bunch of baloney (bologna), and what's the deal with the flags at federal buildings at half mast? What's up with that? The word "pandering" comes to mind. President Bush got slammed by a few "important" speakers at the wellstonian funeral...seems to me he is a sucker for punishment......or...could it be something else? Hmmmmm....

I know your post was well intentioned, and I think I know what you meant to say.
But, black Americans are no more responsible for the rantings of Rev. Lowery today, as white Americans are for the rantings of Jimmy Carter. Both were irresponsible for their remarks. And both were not speaking for ALL black people or ALL white people.
Idiocy is color blind!!

Just when you think the democRATS can't get any dumber, they do!! (and just in time for the midterm elections!!) Isn't that delicious?? Yep, simply yummy!! :) Already within one month beginning this year the Dims have stepped in doo-doo of their own making: 1) The Alito filibuster attempt 2) Trying to tie the Abramoff scandal exclusively to the 'Pubs as a 'culture of corruption', which they plan to use as a rally phrase in the midterms (a non-starter, IMO) 3) This Coretta Scott King thing today 4) Feigning horror at NSA wiretapping of terrorist communications (which the American people overwhelmingly support)
Nice start for the Dumb's for this midterm election year, ehhh ?

First of all, the flags being lowered is a sign of respect, NOT pandering.
Second, no one of any "importance" slammed President Bush today. The people who "slammed" him are jealous, petty, "has been's" and "never were's".
Does that clarify things for you???

Right you are. So far in 2006, the President is ahead 4 - 0.
If the present trend continues, expect the GOP to pick up seats in BOTH Houses of Congress.

Our President has been making a "living" off the fools on the left underestimating him. Don't feel sorry for him....he knows what he is doing....at the end of the day he will win. Remember he is no stranger to politics......and from all reports he is a heckuva poker player. Not to mention that he was a "deuce" driver....he will face flying in the face of odds!!

He is the president. He had to go. Agreed. The office of the President showed up to pay homage and respect. For those who showed disrespect for this office, let's hope some took notice.

I agree with you. But, until American Blacks wake up and face reality, they will continue to be mired at the bottom of the opportunity, economic and political totem pole. Cheapening the dignity of Mother Rosa Parks and Coretta Scott King in their passing to the Lord .demeans the entire race that is so short of common sense, productive leadership. As for Jimmy Carter, he is just a hateful old buffoon, and the comments of Rev. Joseph Lowery are about as dumb as they come.
To: JLAGRAYFOX
Again, I agree. But please don't think that ALL black Americans are at the bottom of the totem pole. They're not. Many have escaped the slavery infested, inner city, must vote for a democrat mentality. That same mentality affects just as many white people as black. One of the reasons men like Rev. Lowery, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc, are so shrill, is because they know that their base in shrinking, and they are losing power. Add to that the impressive list of Conservative black candidates like Ken Blackwell, Lyn Swann, and Michael Steel, and you begin to understand the panic within the democRAT power base.
Is this happening fast enough for me? No. But it is happening........

My sentments exactly. The problem with American Blacks is the out-of-marraige birth rates. They are the worst they have ever been. The current Black leadership has failed miserably in confronting and dealing with this problem. It is a terrible Democrat Party, liberal mindset that fuels this problem. The Democrat Party is going to nothing whatsoever because they want to keep the "slaves" on the plantation. A new set of enlightened Black leaders must emerge. The CBC and NAACP are not cutting the mustard. I am hopeful that these GOP stars will reach the forefront of success and change the equation once and for all. The Democrat Party will never do it.

Well said!! Great minds think alike (but, then again, we were BOTH way ahead of our time as Goldwater supporters)
I have a staff made up 99% of young, black ladies as young as 16. I am shocked to see how proud they are at cranking out babies, at ages 14 or 15, and not knowing who the father is. None of them are married, but the babies just keep coming and coming. And, they are VERY proud of it. It upsets me so much, I feel like crying.
In the meantime, I've decided that a career change is best for me. I simply can't take it any more. My staff is hopeless.
I try to remain an optimist, but it is difficult. Bill Cosby tried to address the problem, and he was crushed. Where the leadership will come from, I don't know. If a black person tries to address the problem, they are called Uncle Tom's, or Oreo's.
The bottom line is this. It's a black problem, and it can only be fixed by black people. Who that person is, I wish I knew.
