Her first two shows were incredible. Interviews are recorded in a studio type atmosphere and are played back at different portions of the show. She also breaks in with LIVE comments from the troops as well as American callers who can say something back to the troops.

Sounds like our folks are doing a bang-up job over there. AMERICAN TROOPS ROCK!

Can anyone give me an update on her health? Is she cancer-free? Is she still engaged?

Her engagement ended soon after her diagnosis. She says she and her ex-fiancee are still friends.

I listened this morning driving around for work. Big mistake. These troops are so young, and intelligent, well trained and committed. And then they come out with comments about not making mistakes and harming someone who could be cleaning a drainage ditch and NOT planting an IED. Talking about "getting it right", and oh, yeah, "hug my kid for me."

As a former military brat, I just had to pull over and have a cry.

Blessings for Laura; going to Iraq after having chemo takes guts and she's got them to spare. I'm sure the troops are appreciating her visit. Today she was having troops come to the radio and talk to people back home.

Hi Sof - It goes OK. Am a little "stung" by the Super Bowl loss, but OK over all.

I've missed the Lounge but (monkey), coincidentally, my company firewalled (a verb?) all radio streams so hanging around the lounge with no radio show is sort of odd.

How about you? I hope no Santana fires are blowing into SD.

Yes, I love her to bits too. Sent her an e-mail about a topic discussed on the show a few years ago and I explained that I'm a Brit listening on the net. She not only read it out, she replied to me personally. Great girl.
