I suggest Jimmy is angry because he is swimming against the tide. He took the Word and stretched it to cover (partially and illogically) his political philosophy. As the truth becomes apparent, his anger increases.

Hopefully, he will be humbled by his errors (and contrite)...or not.

He now has cover to spread his hate and lies all around the country as he is out fund-raising for his son's run for Senator from Nevada to try and defeat John Ensign... guess Carter has aspirations of another Carter in the Whitehouse sometime in the future, but whatever it is, we are going to see a lot of this hateful excuse of a human over the next 9 months.
