Rev Joseph Lowery preached some anti-Bush, anti-War rhetoric today:
LOWERY: We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. But Coretta knew and we knew that there were weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance, poverty abound, for war billions more, but no more for the poor.
Only liberals can get away with using the funeral of the wife of a civil rights leader to preach your Bush hate and anti-War rhetoric, and only liberals would do so.
That is frackin hilarious.
It was so bad, Starwise, that I'm still fuming. Hours later.
This may backfire at the Dems. I listened to an African-American, self described liberal, call Sean Hannity's show today and he said he was disgusted by the Dem remarks at Mrs. King's funeral. He also said President Bush and his father made appropriate, dignified remarks fitting to the occasion. As for myself, I was not too surprised being that I feel a once great party, the Democrats, now led by Bill and Hillary Clinton have sunk to a level that can't get much trashier. It was indeed another Wellstone moment.
MAN ITS rough to be Bush. I believe he is the type of person that wouldve wanted go. I am sure there was one part of him thought, they are going to dog me out while I am there. so if he doesnt go they call him racist and un-caring. if he goes they just say it to his face. I think if I were him I would've used my best texas accent and said real loud while that idiot rev was haranging me. "SHUT THE HELL UP YOU IDIOT! THIS IS ABOUT MRS KING! SECURITY ARREST THAT MAN!"
Why do you show a picture and then not explain what it is all about? Are we all supposed to just know???
No, let's keep our cool and our manners and not turn into them.
Just goes to show -- Atlanta is not really part of the South anymore.
WHY was there background music to that video - you should have just left it alone - and listened to the crowd. It's pretty horrifying watching AND listening to that video.
I just turned on Hairball...and that idiot reporter David Shuster ....said that Bush started things off with a rather pedestrian speech...
And so it goes...
We must remember - the Shusters and Carters and Lowerys of this country are the LOSERS. Always reveling in their defeat, their wretchedness, their pathetic lot. They show their ass every time they open their mouths. They cannot even mourn and celebrate an icon's passing without spewing their bile for all to hear. Most people outside the makeshift Democrat plantation where the service was held will see the truth. Bush walked away a better man, Carter slunk off a much smaller one.
Well since most of the crowd is ignorant and or illiterate, they clearly only get their news from their race baiting leaders.
I left the 'rats during the '92 campaign. Never voted for Clinton, though I started the year prepared to go Democrat--like I had the previous four elections. Then, the Liar from Arkansas began his ascent in the primaries...and I saw where the party was headed.
And the exodus continues. Democrats are a pathetic bunch.
Thanks Starwise!
I rarely watch Joe S on MSNBC and he had a segment on it - he and Tucker were not at all happy about it and said they were politicizing a funeral (also mentioned Wellstone's).
Joe said that in all the times Coretta was on the state w President Bush, even though she didn't agree w his politics, she never once criticized them or him. Some white chick was on and I wanted to slap her. Sheila Jackson Lee was on and tried to spin a little, while being somewhat respectful of the Pres and said she was glad he came and spoke.
Tucker had the Rev that gave the service today on his show, and, of course, he was spinning it. Roy Ennis was on and said it was disgraceful and mentioned his dad was also a leader in the civil rights movement and I didn't hear the rest.
Someone mentioned on one of the shows (I should have paid attention, but I was trying to do something, so was only 1/2 listening most of the time), that contrary to what's being reported, not every applauded and not everyone stood up.
I've only read about it on FR and heard a discussion about it on TV and I'm fuming. Britt will be on in a few and I'll watch him. My heart goes out more to our wonderful President and his wife every day. What these insufferable idiots put them through just frosts my cookies.
I saw a clip of Bubba at the podium w the Hildebeast standing next to him smiling - - it angers me even more to think that our gracious, loving and caring GWB and Laura had to ride to the funeral and back w those two low-life, classless, back-stabbing, socialist goons!!
/rant off
Sorry, Peach - wasn't ranting at you (maybe w you)
p.s. and these people are supposed to be Christians!! Have they never heard of love thy neighbor???
I hope the FBI checks out the church and takes away their tax-exempt status. If they said what they did today, I can only imagine what the regular Sunday service is like, let alone the ones right before an election - - today's probably paled in comparison!
LOL. I hear you.
From what I've seen on other forums, a LOT of people found the Dems to be utterly classless. *up* This may have indeed hurt them more than they know.
Of all the opinions and articles I've heard and read on this, I believe yours best describes what happened.
If ever I run for office, would you be available as a speechwriter?
DITTO
I grew up in a Democratic family. I voted for Clinton in '92 but I couldn't bring myself to do it in '96. (It probably helps that my husband is a Republican). Anyway, I just remember the sick feeling I got every time Clinton even mentioned the military during his first term. All I could think about was if he ran away from his duty in the '60's how could he have the legitimate right to even talk about anything regarding the military? Well, it was that and WACO!
