The situation relative to the Coretta Scott King funeral service was analogous to the annual NAACP convention, where President Bush has never appeared, for the obvious reason that he would have been verbally ambushed by the speakers and participants. Of course, the liberals have whined about his non-appearance at those conventions. They would have whined if he was a no-show at the funeral. But who cares? They would dislike the President even if he suddenly switched to supporting their pet issues, like homosexual "rights" and killing unborn babies.

The hearings on the authority of the Executive Office to wiretap acknowledged enemies of the United States are a direct challenge to the power of the Presidency. The liberals and the MSM associates are churning up every event, such as the protracted war in Iraq and Tom DeLay's legal problems, to cut down the Administration. The liberals are at war with the President. He and his advisers were unwise in having him submit to humiliation at the hands of his domestic enemies.

All too true. But for all we know, his advisors DID tell him to stay away. He came out on top. He showed class and respect for the departed. All he had to do was listen to the assorted bastards. If he'd stayed away, he would have been crucified.
