Columbus is not a national holiday; it is only a Federal holiday.

Is there a difference between a national and a Federal holiday? (Honest question. I wasn't aware that there was a distinction.) Both Columbus and MLK days close government offices, banks, and some schools. Neither is a day off work for most private enterprise employees.

Given a choice, I'd be willing to exchange Labor Day for Ronald Reagan's birthday, but Satan will be ice skating in Hades before that happens.
