Hope someday, you might pick up a copy of David Horowitz's 'Radical Son'. . .he was 'born of communist parents'. . .and he was a committed marxist; worked for the Black Panthers post graduation from Berkely and 'European foot tour'. . .so to speak. .
His shift from the Left began with some doubts expressed i.e. 'dissent' and how it was received; and culminated when his friend who was hired- per his recomendation - as Bookeeper for Black Panthers and subsequently was murdered (by BP's). . ..
