George Bush's Campaign Team Joining John McCain

With the 2008 presidential election less than three years away, more than a few members of President Bush's campaign team have begun to migrate to the current GOP frontrunner, Sen. John McCain.

According to Newsweek magazine, Mark McKinnon, Bush's longtime media adviser, has told the president he's ready to leap aboard McCain's "Straight Talk Express," unless brother Jeb or Condoleezza Rice change their minds and get into the race.

Among Bush fundraisers, the biggest catch, says Newsweek, is Tom Loeffler, a former congressman from San Antonio, who is a Bush-family loyalist and helped build Bush's money machine in 2000.

Ron Weiser, who was Bush's finance chairman in Michigan in 2000, has also joined McCain.

However, in a bizarre observation considering the Arizona maverick's frontrunner status, McKinnon told Newsweek: "I'd rather lose with McCain than win with somebody else."

Other presidential hopefuls scouting for campaign talent include Tennessee Sen. Bill Frist, Virginia Sen. George Allen and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Notably absent from the competition: former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who was leading McCain in most GOP presidential preference polls last year - but has done little to advance a presidential bid lately.

The media owns John McCain. They created him and they own him. President John McCain would call the MSM to ask for permission to go potty.

Yes McCain is a MSM creation. That's how they'll easily break him when the time comes.

Against Hillary he'll be beat so bad they'll make him wish he was a POW back in V'nam.

"McKinnon told Newsweek: "I'd rather lose with McCain than win with somebody else."

A dream that will come true.

fiftymegaton says, "We are on the same page about McCain. I have always said McCain was a loose cannon and he is the last Republican (if you can call him that) that should ever occupy the WH. I will do whatever I can to keep that from happening. But I won't try to teach the GOP a lesson...not now...not at this critical period of our country. I learned my lesson in 92."

Well 9999lakes is proud of his vote in '92, and thinks it taught the GOP an important lesson. It's just that sometimes lessons have to learned more than once.

Oh, oh, my husband said he won't vote for Mc Cain and I've heard he's kind of 'loony' off camera.

I will vote for ANY Republican over a democrat.

I follow your posts summer because they help me keep track of what Jeb is doing in Florida. Jeb strikes me as kind of like Ronald Reagan in that folks can't help but like him. W sometimes taunts (probably without meaning to) but I don't see any of that in Jeb. And though I'd prefer someone more conservative than Jeb, heck, those I do like couldn't get elected. Shoot, Newt looks like a RINO to me. I might just get one of those Jeb 08 stickers. After all, people can be persuaded to change their mind.

Actually I didn't say that daybreakcoming said that. And I replied to it.

By the way, for an older woman, McCain's wife, Cindy is a good-looker.

Why do you think Conservatives don't want Ms Rodham in the White House?

Yes, Cindy is very pretty - and young looking for her age. She had a mild stroke last year I believe!

"If they can't do better than McCain, they don't deserve my vote."

Don't look at it as a vote for McCain. Look at it as a vote against the First Husband.

;o)))

Nice to see "sending a message" is still strong here.Enjoy the Hildebeast, for sitting on your hands is essentially a vote for her.

The worst thing that could happen is the election of a weak, lefty republican.

Hillary will do less harm than McManiac, Guliani, Rice, Romney, et al.

So you voted for Kerry? Nice.

That's essentially a vote for al-Qaida.

But go on believing that Buchananistic tripe.

Bingo!

Sadly, too many on this site are wanting to vote for Hillary, errr, send a message and sit out. Just like 1992, 1996,1998, and 2000 (because of the DUI thing, and look at what that got us).
