Catholic priests in the church marking the spot where Jesus was believed to have been born said that during the five-week siege, Palestinians tore up some Bibles for toilet paper and removed many valuable sacramental objects, according to a May 15, 2002, report by the Washington Times.

No, actually I'd expect Muslims not to use toilet paper at all. This seems to be an improvement.
" The Bible contains the inspired word of God. As such its words are sacred and Holy. deliberate desecration of it is indeed sacrilegious."
The Word is sacred. The book that contains the Word is important, but it is not, in and of itself, sacred. It is just a vessel. To deliberately destroy a Bible in the manner described is certainly sinful, and as such will be frowned upon by God. Those who would do such a thing are as dead to Him, unless and until they seek forgiveness through Jesus Christ. They are showing themselves to be idolators, who have no understanding and thus are mistaken in assuming that a Bible, a collection of pieces of paper, is something that can actually BE desecrated. It's an act of futility, done by those who worship idols and therefore have no conceptual framework other than idolatry to guide them.
Israel should have stopped them if they did desecrate it, I think. But I doubt they did desecrate the holy book since they have much reverence for the bible's New Testament's prophets.
"Vengeance is Mine. I will repay, says the Lord." Deuternonomy 32:35. He is much more powerful and just in His vengeance than we would be.
"Islam = antichrist? "
I can tell you this. The messiah that the muslims are waiting for, the mahdi, according to the koran, will come and rule the world for seven years at the of which will judge mankind.
Christianity, on the other hand, believes that when the Anti-Christ makes himself known, he will come to global power for seven years. At the end of that seven years is when Jesus Christ returns as Messiah to throw the A/C into the lake of fire, all non-believers judged, and the rightious to live with Christ as world ruler from a new Jerusalem for 1000 years.
In short, the messiah muslims are waiting for is the anti-christ.
I'm just glad they've stopped using their hands.
Interesting. I'd never heard that about the Muslim messiah.
As for the Anti-Christ coming to power, piece of cake. In ten to fifteen years, we'll all be so tolerant, we'll let someone railroad us, our way of life, and our Constitution with little or no problem.
Israel should have stopped them if they did desecrate it, I think.
You do realize that this was an armed standoff right? These were armed palestinian gangsters. If Israel had rushed and killed them they would have been condemned for that. And they were showing their respect for The New Testament Prophet, how?
Sorry, but I gave up on WorldNetDaily a couple of years ago, maybe I will scan them again, to see if, maybe; they have changed their ways.
"And they were showing their respect for The New Testament Prophet, how?"
If you've ever listened to Louis Farrakhan, and I have out of curiosity before, you'll see that New Testament Christian prophets are held in esteem as prophets under Islam as well. I don't think the poster was implying that respect was shown; it was more an observation that the entire tale was/is suspect, because this supposed reverence would have prevented such a thing.
They should come to the United States - they'd be paid well for their "art".
Multicultralism is aids, and Islam is an opportunistic disease.
I have my own problems with WND. Most notably, their habit of disguising book advertisements as news items. Otherwise, they're pretty hit and miss, just like any other news site pandering to one side or the other.
But this is a real story, and I remember it quite vividly from 2002. WND's fair game for criticism, but they deserve some slack when they get it right, as they did here.
Okay .. there's our open inviatation .. can we blow them up now ..??
We don't worship paper and ink the way the Muslims do. Nor do we worship a black rock.
These people are confused about the true God who can't be confined to a building, a book, or a cartoon.
