Danish fears over potential attempts to hurt its soccer players in wake of publication of Muhammad cartoons may prompt cancellation of match scheduled for March
The reason for the possible cancellation is the hostility to Denmark over cartoons disparaging Islam's prophet Muhammad published in a Danish newspaper.
Denmark is worried that Islamic elements in Israel could try and harm members of the Danish soccer delegation.
According to the report, the Danes will wait until February 21 before making a final decision on the issue, while consultations are held with police intelligence, players, and the Danish foreign ministry.

If the government of Denmark thinks that cancelling a game with Israel will do anything other than embolden those who are at the root of the problem, they're truly delusional.
I doubt it's a government decision unless it's an army soccer team or something like that.

I could be wrong, but they called the team a "delegation," so it sounds like the government is involved to me.
The whacko, extremist islamo-fascists are like wolves. They can smell fear, and when they do they pounce. The smartest thing they can do is to press on with their plans and tell the ones on the fringes to have intercourse with themselves, the hard way.
It says "MAY" cancel, they are consulting with Israeli security serives. Hopefully it will go forward, but don't you think their athletes should be safe?
"Hopefully it will go forward, but don't you think their athletes should be safe?"
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Cancelling will be viewed as capitulation, and will only make things worse down the road.
The Danes have never been friends of Israel and have voted repeatedly against Israel to appease the Arabs. I don't think this issue has anything to do with athlete safety. Looks like Denmark is merely using the well-worn, anti-Semitic card to appease the Koranimals.
Time for Denmark to decide whose side they are really on.
I just heard on CNN International the editor of the newspaper which initially published the cartoons. He stated that the riots are not about respect for Islam so much as they are about submission to Islam. I agree.
"I hope that they will decide to go ahead with the games"
Israel and Denmark need to stand the ground and have the games. Do the security and be prepared to respond to any violence.
How about canceling games with any Muslim country? That would make far more sense than punishing Israel simply for existing.

Denmark = France. Burn baby, burn.
What a shame we have to live in a world like this
Innocent people have to fear for their lives for some silly cartoons
