I'd also like to see more of this, particularly the part about ignoring partisan politics.

Politicians are supposed to vote in a manner that represents their constituents, not do a team huddle and decide what is right for the party.

Unfortunately, if the other side decides to play the partisan game, everything you do gets shot down unless you lump together also. Its the down side of there being strength in numbers.

...Oh yeah, that wasn't him campaigning for and winning a second term for Bush in 2004!

Well Done Senator McCain

Thats the first time I have ever been able to applaud McCain for anything. I hope he follows it up with some more evidence that he is a conservative. Then I will be able to applaud him again.

I don't have a lot of faith that he will give me the opportunity.
