Moon Griffon threatened by lege

Just when one thinks that LA politicians cannot further embarrass themselves and our embattled state, new ways are found.

Rep. Ernie Alexander, R-Lafayette, threatened statewide talk show host Moon Griffon IN WRITING. See letter here.

Alexander seeks to stifle free speech which not only is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, but is essential to a democracy. A public official using his office to intimidate a citizen of LA is simply unconscionable.

Further, Rep. Alexander needs a crash course in the FCC laws and regs as well as the U.S. Constitution. In addition to being wrong on the law and the facts, Alexander is wrong to use official stationary, paid for with our tax dollars, in a blatant attempt to intimidate a citizen of LA.

Alexander owes not only Moon Griffon a public apology, but also one to the people of LA for mis-using his office in an attempt to stop public discourse on public issues.

Well, a "lege" is short for a Legislator (State Senator or State Representative in Louisiana). And a "Moon" is Moon Griffon, a statewide conservative talk radio host here in Louisiana. He's one of the good guys..

I love to listen to Moon when I go to Shreveport or Monroe. I can't believe a republican has threatened him. I figured it would be someone like Blanco or Nagin who would go after him...lol

I like Moon but I have to take him in small doses at time though. The great thing about his show is you actually get a feeling on whats happening in Baton Rouge but sometimes he beats a subject to death for days on end. I read the letter and think the whole matter is overblown. I do believe the legislator is incorrect though on the legal arguments. However Moon does play favorites sometimes. Thats true.
