Actually AIDS is due more to homosexuality than one's spending all his money on drugs and becoming poor.
A report on the Daily News a few years ago reported that homosexuality amongst blacks in New York City is much, much higher relative to the percentage of blacks residents. Something like 400-500% higher. I guess these figures can be extrapolated throughout the country.

No, they can't. Gay men have traditionally traveled to places like NYC to live their lives.
I am very dubious of any statistics on numbers of homosexuals in the population. The figure 4% is always thrown around as the number of homosexual males in a given population, but I don't think there is any data to back that up and I suspect the numbers are inflated to give them more power. In point of fact, poverty is a very high contributor to AIDS and I would suspect the cause of the increase in AIDS among blacks is consistent with IV drug use and prostitution.
