Posted on 02/06/2006 6:08:53 AM PST by ken5050
Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

I disagree....gets the Democrats fully on the record.....

These hearings have to be public, in order to not appear to be hiding anything. The media would scream "If it's legal, why hide it?" No way around it.

The Dems do not realize that will come across as partisan hacks attacking the president for trying to protect us...

Gonzales is not as nimble when working away from his written statements!! Agree, he sound too hesitant.
To: mystery-ak
Agree with you all - this shouldn't even be discussed in an open hearing. Our enemies must be laughing their heads off.

It's profoundly dumbfounding how stupid and vile the Dems are. They could care less about the safety of the American people.

What do Congressman think the budget of NSA is for, if it is not to collect intelligence to protect the United States of America.
Is it just another government handout program, welfare for cryptologists? I want to reach into my TV and strangle Leahy!

Leahy is DELIBERATELY using "wire tapping" instead of electronic surveillance soas to make pejorative and misleading statements. Why am I not surprised? He's such a rude condescending b*st*rd.

This should never have been a public hearing. It's for grandstanding ... it will back fire on the dems

Leahy just wants to argue with him. I wish that members of Congress would give the same respect to other government officials that they themselves demand.
To: Mo1
Gonzales: Hamdi case being quoted. The Supreme Court - Justice O'Connor says that clearly Congress authorized the president to detain an American citizen.
And a detention is far more intrustive than wiretapping.

Our enemies must be laughing their heads off. No, they're too busy writing down Leahy's comments so they can quote them in their next tape.

I can understand that point, but it seems that divulging more info the terrorists can use to be stealthy is what concerns me.
