If she was really covert then the CIA really sucks as far as creating cover. Hell, you have to do more then just make up a corporate name.

Newly released court papers could put holes in the defense of Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis (Scooter) Libby, in the Valerie Plame leak case.Yes, now he will have troubles defending the crime he was never indicted for. WTF.

the media people he told (and many others), already knew she was CIA. can you "out" someone to a third person, who already knows that person is "out"?

"A CIA spokesman at the time is quoted as saying Plame was "unlikely" to take further trips overseas, though"

I don't think they can salvage the Plame fiasco.

What they should be investigating is why did they send her husband at her recommendations for an important mission, that he was totally unqualified for and had political motives.

Oh yea .. then why is it Libby's lawyers that are requesting the documents

And why is Fitz stalling to provide the proof??

It sounds like Newsweek is quoting from Fitz' press conference, rather than from any documents. He made a lot of statements at that presser that he apparently had no proof of.

And Libby's attorney's better not let Fitzgerald and the JD drop this action when they want to-there is too much information that needs to see the light of day.

Michael Isikoff

I didn't need to see anything else.
He should be brought up on charges for
knowingly passing on fraudulent information.

First line: could ... could ... could ... could.

NOT very definitive.

Synopis: More wishful thinking on Newsweak's part.

Oh yes, Plame was covert...I guess that is why Fitz did not charge anyone with the Intel Identity Protection Act. Fitz is either partisan or an ignorant dumb*ss...I can't decide which.

If this were true, the democRAT attorney would have charged as many Repubs as possible. Anyone doubt that?

"according to newly released portions of a judge's opinion"

"new papers"

What judge? What papers? And how did Issikoff get his hands on these papers?

No source is mentioned at all, not even an anonymous source.
