BEIRUT, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Lebanon's interior minister resigned on Sunday after thousands of angry Muslim protesters torched the Danish consulate in Beirut and damaged property in a Christian area in riots over cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad.
The protesters, waving green Islamic flags and chanting "God is greatest", fuelled sectarian tension when they stoned a church, provoking an angry Christian outcry in a country that has not fully recovered from its 1975-1990 civil war.
Interior Minister Hassan al-Sabaa, a Sunni Muslim retired officer loyal to the country's anti-Syrian majority coalition, submitted his resignation at an emergency cabinet meeting.
"We had two solutions: either to try to keep people away (from the consulate) as we did, or to use weapons against them," he told reporters. "I am a person who would never order the use of arms against the Lebanese."
Michel Aoun, the main Christian opposition leader, demanded the resignation of the whole government for failing to prevent the situation from escalating.

Obviously muslims can do no wrong as long as it is against non-Muslims. This is a basic building block of their religion and mentality. They will lay low in Western countries until there numbers are large enough to overthrow it stealthily. They have no desire to assimilate or want our systems, they only want our wealth and property at some point in the future. This is an Arab, therefore, a muslim mentality, based on centuries of raiding neighboring countries to pillage and plunder. Nothing has changed. Lebanon used to be the most civilized country in the Middle East, before the Civil War. Yet not even Lebanon can avoid this kind of violence. Islam breeds violence.
Speaking of Roman maxims, another one during the war against Philip V of Macedon, an ally of Hannibal, is that it's better to fight them in their country before we have to fight them in ours.

In any case, what is for sure is that, what if Mohammad invented purposefuly a stupid self-conscious religion on purpose so as to arouse warfare. Any and all reason would keep the people hating or with a ready made excuse for warfare. They act stupid on purpose so as to purposefuly bring critcism on themselves and so as to find any and all excuse for making war. It is an "angry clown" religion. Crusty the psychopath clown and Mohammad are cousins in this respect. It's a big circus, a terrible joke and world embarassment on 1 billion losers.
This is what the Soviet seem to have hijacked and well exploited... we did not, we have forgotten the muslim mentality and we are not playing with it in the more "secondary" and "tertiary" modes of communication, with winks and nods.

Lebanese anti-Syrian coalition resigned as a result of the riots. This is a move that brings back "seculars" in power in the region... a tacit criticism of Bush's policy of removing Saddam from power?
The muslim mentality has to be understood and manipulated with our own people in power there. It's not a choice between muslim or secular, it's a choice between those who can treat the muslims and those who want pure control. There lays the cynicism of those who say we cannot instal democracy in Iraq: they propose no alternatives other than surrender. Hypocrites, as usual, will always criticize and omit they have no alternative and are cowards.

You'd do a lot more to help muslims if you entertained the idea of conquering them and giving them a good lesson.
Just 40 years ago Lebanon was civilized nation because it was Christian dominated.
At one time Lebanon was a tourist destination with lots of nightlife. However, it turned into a hellhole.
Islam does indeed breed violence. It is a plague on the Earth. The sooner the civilized natons of the world (the USA and Israel) destroy it, the better off mankind will be.

We could easily work with muslims if we understood their mentality, and better so in a position of superiority than one of inferiority, without showing it, of course. Liberals always amaze when they pretend they can help in position of inferiority while pretending PC higher levels of sanctimony and morality. We cannot really help but bring contempt on us that way as others are more serious in their social engineering than this shallow cheezy stuff (Hitler himself and the soviet communists, to name a few)
You're comment that I sound like something coming out of the Third Reich is profound and wrong. I have lived in a large U.S. city and have been dealing with Muslims for over 30 years. I think I have a better understanding of them and their ways, especially after studying their history. The ignorance is self induced; since most of them don't believe anything coming out of the West can be right or good, given it didn't come through mohammed. This wille easily cause their ignorance to go on indefinitely. Study their society, their history, their faith, it is locked in the 7th century, with all it's blindness, bigotry and hate. Your examples are a little weak, Catholics in Spain, I assume you mean during the Inquisition, their actions were never sanctioned by the Roman Pontiff as wrong as they were, and radical Christian fundamentalists in the U.S., what have they done to compare to Islam? And Israeli Jews? Until the formation of their state, Jews were at the mercy of their muslim neighbors, and British overlords. Today, they have to deal only with the former who are hell bent on destroying them. Given Israel was also formed to return the surviving Jews of the Holocaust to their homeland (those that chose to go there), I can't imagine any other people in the last hundred years surviving that kind of genocide and then decide to set up shop surrounded by a 100 million muslim enemies whose whole goal in life, and still is, is to destroy you. I think I'd be a tightass too, if I was an Israeli.
Ever wonder why no one in their right mind, that is a non-muslim, bothers to go to live in a muslim country? Some do out of economic necessity, but very few. It's not a tolerant society, it is not a modern society, it is not a democratic or pluralistic society. It is a tribal society that has no desire to cooperate with others not of the same blood oath, and it's religious constitution is to subjugate all non-believers (their version) to islam, or make them second class citizens, slaves or kill them. It's all in their little green book. Read it and be amazed. They take it as the literal word of God, with no changes or revisions or modifications allowed. It cannot be changed and it was delivered by the last prophet, mohammed. These people are locked in a mental straight jacket that does not see the light of day, whether it is reason or logic or the scientific method. And any religion that contains as one of it's major tenets as that of being condemned to death for wanting to leave it's membership strikes me as diabolical. Third Reich, yep, that's what they sound like, not me. And the only way to defeat a Third Reich is it's destruction. Negotiating doesn't work with someone who wants to kill you, period. Especially if that's what their religion tells them.
Lastly, regarding "Paradise Now", a sad and somewhat misleading film. They hate themselves and the world because it doesn't fit their way of warped thinking, so instead of trying to understand it, they prefer to destroy it or themselves or both. And yes, the mullahs, as little dictators, contribute to it, because they're addicted to power and love their sway over the ignorant multitudes.That's why they're fighting so hard to keep the hatred alive; without it, they would lose their power, which is what they live for.
Has any dictatorship ever changed power other than through a bloody coup? I'm not aware of one, except the wierd implosion of the Soviet Union.
My understanding is that in the good old days (40 years ago) a lot of Lebanon and Beirut's wealth came from them being middle men and bankers. They facilitated trade and banking between the West and the Arabs most especially the oil rich Arabs. Christian Lebanese were in this business more than the Muslim Lebanese
The Arabs were too crude and unsophisticated back then to deal directly with the West though of course many did.
