Yes, the Immaculate Reception. The Music City Miracle. The Drew Pearson Hail Mary pass. The tuckrule game.
All of these games have a couple of things in common. First, they will not be forgotten. Second, most people believe the officials played a major role in who won and who did not win the game.
Steeler fans should be upset with the officials also. I know Steeler fans would have rather won this game without the controversy, but its just something theyre going to have to get used to. Wouldnt they rather give back the 3-4 controversial calls and still beat the Seahawks?
Seattle fans will probably be complaining about this game for 30 yrs.
Hell, I was tired of listening to Steeler fans blame O'donnel for 10 yrs. and that had nothing to do with the officials.
We could just as easily have lost the Colts game and everyone would have said it was all the officials fault. But face it, the Steelers let the Colts get back up. We quit throwing and we quit blitzing and we put ourselves in the position of one fluke event changing the game.
I don't blame Neil O'Donnell for losing Super Bowl 30 either. There are too many players and too many plays in a game to pick two plays and say "that lost the game."
Mike Holmgren left two groups off the list of people he said he had to beat to win the Super Bowl. He should have added the Seahawks coaches and players because they made way too many mistakes and mishandled the clock too badly to blame the referees. If Mike and his boys want to know who lost that game all they have to do is look in the mirror.
