"They [seahawks] couldn't run tonight. Their passing game was so-so."
Yet they managed to be slightly better than the Steelers in both those categories, yet lost by 11. "

Later, gators, I'm off to buy a sweatshirt! I'd order a Seahawks Super Bowl Champs shirt for ya, but gosh darnit, they don't have any. ;o)

Not any Steelers fan that's been a fan for a while. When the league apologized to us FOUR times in one season for blown calls that cost the team the game (and with those four games a playoff birth) Cowher said it best "we shouldn't have been in a position to lose the games because of the calls". That's the mantra of Steelers fans to bad calls.
And as for bad calls let's not forget the Seahawks fumble that was ruled an incomplete pass, nothing but Steelers near the ball, it's our ball if that's called correctly. Bad calls go both ways, deal with it.

The refs read the papers, and know who is "supposed" to win the game. This unconsciously affects their calls, and thus ticky-tack calls go against the team that is not supposed to win. In this case, that team was the Seahawks, and the game was close enough that those ticky-tack calls were absolutely critical. I'd like to believe that it could be explained away that easily. I dont believe it. Why were those refs chosen for the Super Bowl? Everyone knows that Bernie Kukar and Ed Hocculi are the best 2 refs they have. Who was the dolt they had tonight?

Poor Echo, he just has a very hard time accepting reality.

I have a great hangover recipe for anyone who wants it! Catherine Zeta Jones would be a good hangover recipe for me............................ or Kate Beckinsale!!!!!!!!!!

So how did you react to Ben's pick that gave Seattle new life?
To: Petronski
Was he in rare form tonight?

"5. If Big Ben doesn't throw that INT midway through the 3rd this game is a blowout"
BS - look at the game stats, where the Seahawks had a slight edge in most categories. If the hawks don't get two ticky-tack callsc costing them 14 points, and if MH doesn't throw HIS pick, the Hawks maybe win by 17.

The Steeler fans are going to be using their Terrible Towels to dry their tears. Famous last words.
LOL.

Seahawks won't be back next year. The losing SB team has a very bad time of things the following season, if recent trends are any guide. Throw in free agency and I doubt we'll be seing the Hawks next year.

Hi mpf! Concur iwth #1, #2 true but should never have been in two of those situations. #3 simply not true. Porter is still a punk. #4 can't disagree. #5 see #2. #6 Pats will prevent the possibility of a repeat for PGH. See ya next season.

Not quite as close to a heart attack as the Colts fumble, but close.

Echo, you are welcome to your opinion, but you disappoint me in taking this into the tinfoil zone...

I JUST HEARD THIS WILL BE THE LOWEST RATED SUPERBOWL EVER. I DO BELIEVE IT.

Saw the whole thing. Big screen HD. Very knowledgeable long time football fan.
I have officially decided that you Seattle fans are the whiniest I have ever seen. You lost because your team couldn't finish when it counted....get over it.

No pretty typical for Maineman, bitter, more bitter, and very very bitter.
To: Echo Talon
I have a very low opinion of sports ref, particularly in the NBA. So, yes, I think refs are VERY influenced by reputations and expectations.
To: Steve_Seattle
If they fall behind by 18 points they would have had to throw on every down. They played well in the first half but they didn't make the big plays when they had to.
