Correct. Also, IIRC, even w the WOT, including Iraq and Afghanistan, the % of $s in defense is much smaller than during any other war.

I would LOVE to see televised hearings with Russert under oath and having to answer direct questions over it all.

Me too. All the more interesting is, former CIA Chief James Woolsie(among many other interesting stalwarts) is in Libby's team.

I'm going to Davidson College this Tuesday to hear Bill Kristol speak. If there is a Q&A session, do any of you have a question you'd like for me to ask him?

I agree it's maddening, but the results are there. Republicans have increased influence over the past three election cycles. If this happens again this year, it will be further proof that a laid back, rational and logical argument is working with voters compared to attacking opponents.

how do you guys live at 8,500 feet without oxygen?

My husband gets seriously ill at high altitudes. It happened to him in Mexico City and Switzerland. It isn't fun, but I'd guess the people who live there are enured to it, and it doesn't affect everyone (I was fine).

Sir, Conservative Pundits such as yourself have been extremely reluct to actively support President Bush. More times then not the "Conservative" talking head dams with faint praise. Why are Conservative Pundits so afraid of defending their side?

I just saw that commercial (Teddy Bear).

I thought it was incredibly stupid, but didn't get the double entendre (you did- ha).

A Teddy Bear is a bad gift anyway. Where do you put them?

At least flowers wilt and candy is eaten.

Disappointed that there was no smackdown of Juan on the round table on FNS this morning. In fact, I thought the panel was pretty boring all around. Hayden did a great job with Chris, who I think does a darn good interview. I will switch over to MTP to watch Specter "hold his own", but I'll be holding my nose while I watch -- I think Russert has turned into such a hater it is almost unbearable to watch him. Several weeks ago, after he took Colin Powell's statement On "misleading" completely out of context, I worked my way through the NBC offices, until I got his voice mail and left him a message about what a fraud he really is. But, I will watch to see how his guests deal with his always unfair questions. I will have to keep things into perspective while I watch just to keep my blood pressure in check -- will be watching for the laugh factor.

NEO-conservative Kristol would probably dispute the premise of that one, but I think it's right on!

State parties do choose their candidates. Incumbants have an edge and it's hard to replace them. Bush supported each candidate even if they did not support him. GWB showed, again, what it means to be a class act.

There should be some loyalty when the party supports a candidate. The Democrats have fear of being blackballed within the party. The Republicans lack that fear. I bet old Hillary pushes psychological warfare for those Democrats who do not repeat the party line. The Democrats looked like a bunch of fools sitting on their behinds during certain moments in the State of the Union.
It was nice to see at least one Democrat, Ben Nelson, who wasn't afraid to standup once in a while.

Scanning quickly, I see no mention of FOX having shown one of the "blasphemous" cartoons. Nor of Juan's terrific defense of free speech and his delightful shot at Islam ("must be a pretty weak religion if people can't handle some cartoons..." or words to that effect).

What makes it even more disgusting is that the President called the heads of the Slimes to the Oval Office and specifically asked them NOT to print it due to national security (something that I think is rarely done).

Wallace seems to be getting the better sound bites lately.
On SOTU day night, he publicly expressed his admiration & respect for Bush, when he talked to Brit.

If they don't like GWB that's fine, all I ask is respect and, if applicable, admiration. Wallace's stock just went up a little with me.
