Did the good Mr. Crocker ever consider that perhaps the majority of Americans just may not have any respect for what Muslims claim as religious beliefs? He doesn't speak for this American.

Mindless censorship is unacceptable in our cultural tradition.

The NYT doesn't seem to have or need any "press responsibility" when it comes to disclosing national security operations.

I don't believe anyone will accuse me of being an Islam lover. But what else can an ambassador to Pakistan say?
An Elizabethan official once defined an ambassador as "Someone who lies abroad for his country."

'press responsibility'
So why aren't the beheadings broadcast or on the front page?
Mozzieville should be renamed the Glass Ware Republic, after appropriate action is taken.

"I don't believe anyone will accuse me of being an Islam lover. But what else can an ambassador to Pakistan say?"I certainly don't question your sympathies but I could have thought of a hundred different ways to respond including, "Where are you hiding Osama you lying, hypocritical, self-pontificating, groveling filth!!!!????"

Publishing cartoons = hateful, threatening to annihilate the western world = peaceful. It is past time to deport ALL peoples of ME background, or muslim faith that are not citizens. Declare islam as a group like the KKK, and let those that hang on to it to march in Skokie.
In the local paper, a judge had told a woman to remove her scarf, or leave the courtroom, because of a ban on hats. She refused, and was removed. Now the judge has apologized, and will rethink the ban on "religious grounds". I think I will wear my Seahawk hat next time I go in to court, I believe in them. They define my sundays, and without it, I feel naked.

These cartoons do not reflect in anyway the views of the American people towards Islam.
He had better speak for himself and leave the American people out of it.
I think every paper in this country should re publish them.

Most ambassadors are political appointees on an extended vacation to the country of their choice, living at taxpayer expense. I doubt half of them can even speak the language of the nation they are in.
