Golda Meir once said that there would only be peace between the Arabs and the Jews when the Arabs love their children more than they hate the Jews. Unfortunately, I think that she was too limited in her scope.

It's not just Arabs, since there are other religions that many Arabs hold, but muslims. Combine that with the tribe mentality of many arabs, or other backwards peoples, and we've got a bomb with a burning fuse.

Their perceived insults are a danger to us all, especially once they've got weapons of mass destruction, whether they be chemical, biological, or nuclear.

At least in the Cold War, we were dealing with people who were scared of the MAD (mutually assured destruction) principal. Now we're dealing with people who simply don't give a damn how many people die, on either side. We're going to see a very ugly and massive loss of life somewhere in the near future, and I shudder to think of the consequences.
