The Soir was the first European paper to re-print the cartoons

It's editor was the first to re-print, and got fired for it. France surrendered.

And again, the majority owner is Egyptian.

Le Monde jumped into the fray with a front page cartoon of its own.

The gu picked to replace the Soir editor quit in protest.

And, btw, our own state department weaseled, while, so far as I know the French governement didn't.
