Hey Dude! I noticed that you're putting out the Kottke tonight! It's wonderful.
A few years back I saw John McEwen doing a banjo/comedy act at a small nightclub in Colorado Springs. During the break I got to chat with him a bit. I was "fiddling" then and knew a few names and we had a couple of friends in common. I asked him if he was going to play Opus 36. Yep.
When the time came, he stepped off the stage, went over to our table, pulled up a chair and played that song right in front of me! I-will-never-forget-that-time!!
