I did that 2 weeks before Christmas! Don't know if I've yet recovered from "sticker shock" when I saw the laundry list of things they wanted to do.
Not the best time of year for it. Glad we canceled our vacation plans this month beforehand.
My best disaster though was when we came home from a beach vacation a few years ago. Both the A/C and the refrigerator were suprisingly dead as doornails when we returned home. Felt like I was writing checks with both hands.
