I am certain of a really, REALLY bad year for Islamolunatics who demand no Mohammed cartoons...
Maybe I've got my `head in a bottle' (quite likely) since I get a lot/most of my news here, it is so slanted elsewhere . . .
But I've noticed that issues ventilated here are showing up a few days or week or so later, some almost verbatim,
in National Review, Weekly Standard and on Fox's `Beltway Boys'.
Yeah, that's us: opinion leaders, `movers & shakers'.
This really isn't about civility and good manners.
It's about whether by large scale protests, one religious faith can abrogate the civil liberties of other people, in spite of the local laws, because something bothers their religious sensibilities.
you put the question perfectly. This PC crap is outrageous.
Don't let Ben Sargent here about this!
Buzzzziitt. Wrong Answer.
I am intolerant of other people's intolerance. If Islamics cannot tolerate our press freedom, then screw them!
Publish the damn cartoons in every venue possible. Spray paint them on water towers across the country until these bozos recognize that their intolerance will no longer be tolerated.
You are correct (in all but my talents as a cartoonist ;} ). I disagree about giving the State Department "freedom of speech". They supposedly speak for the current Administration and they should remember that.
Only individuals can be granted freedom of speech; that freedom is freedom FOR speech, not freedom FROM others' speech. IOW, there is no "freedom from offensiveness".
You want that, then turn off the TV, radio, and don't set foot outside your house. (Make sure you get the teenagers out of the house first, however) ;)
It figures.
Of course they do not give a damn about the babies getting up and school girls getting their heads chopped off.
Not to mention using the Bible as toilet paper and defiling Christian churches.
No, that's precisely the point. Muslims can avoid any honest examination or appraisal of their "prophet" because the Koran tells them they must. Well, isn't that just so convenient for Islam.
I'd expect this from the UN, not the US State Dept. Bad form from State, who's silence is deafening when God or Christ are villified publically.
Additionally, the Counterterrorism Blog is reporting that some Muslims have Fabricated cartoons to worsened Danish controversy. Throwing fuel on the fire to justify their "anger" at the West. As if they ever needed any reason before.
And.... Why can Moslems build mosques in every western city in the World and Christians cannot in their lands? Why the double standard and when is the west going to take a firm, principled stand based on truth ?? They are out to get us,with a deliberate, very well thought out plan....and this is only the beginning...
Agreed. It isn't in their job description to tell Americans how or what to think. It's their job to insure we have the freedom to think and protect our shores, borders and air space.
The gummint does not speak for the Citizens. It protects Citizens right to speak for themselves. They are carrying this 'nanny' federalism crap just a little too far, declaring such a murderous cult as a 'religion of peace and love' when we know better and the gummint knows better.
It's not diplomacy, it's hypocricy, and yes, it sends the wrong message. Not only makes the person who said it an idiot, but makes us all look like frightened idiots when just the opposite is the truth.
Note to terrorists: Don't mistake what some un-official spokesperson might say could be prompted by fear and is indicatative of the general state of the population in America.
We are not fearful. We are in a state of absolute anger. Be wise and discern the difference.
How are they on inciting political hatred? Oh, right, that's free speech.
Sedition, good; poking fun at Muslims, evil. Got it.
Thanks FD.
State Dept? Pffft, its the US Dept of Dhimmitude. Even friends of mine who work at State will admit it.
Good to see you around, BTW. ;o)
I agree with you there. The absurd threats made in the protests are very revealing about the extent to which islamo-fascism has penetrated Muslim populations in the West.
How about asking that question to the "artist" that put a crucifix in a jar of urine, or the "artist" that did a portrait of the Virgin Mary with elephant dung?
