Schwarzenegger gave Susan Kennedy $25,000 after he received that amount from AT&T. Days later, she voted to OK its merger with SBC.
SACRAMENTO Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger paid thousands of dollars in campaign money to a California Public Utilities commissioner three weeks after receiving contributions in the same amount from a company the commissioner regulated.
Susan P. Kennedy, now the governor's chief of staff, received $25,000 from his campaign account 21 days after AT&T donated $25,000 to the fund.

Un-frigging believeable. This is the kind of thing that we recalled Kennedy's previous boss, Gray Davis over. Anyone see a common thread here? Anyone? Anyone?

Give me a break. This is all part of the Dem midterms campaign to paint all pubbies as part of the "culture of corruption". The press will fall over themselves trying to connect the dots that just won't connect...and ignore the same being done by the dems.
Think Iran-Contra.

This is, ultimately, Karl Rove's doing. Rove is a smart guy, but when he is stupid he can be really, really stupid.
Rove is the guy who persuaded Bush to support Richard Riordan. Then when Simon beat him 2-1 in the primary he persuaded Bush to put Gerald Parsky in charge of the state Republican party. Parsky is pro-abort, a real country club Republican.
Parsky was appointed because he was a really good money raiser, he said. But then he refused to raise any money for Simon, who was short the money he needed to buy ads to counter the usual negative MSM attacks. Simon only lost by a small margin in spite of this betrayal.
Then Rove and Parsky took advantage of the conservative recall by putting in their own RINO, Arnold. So Arnold won, the alternative seeming to be Bustamente. He never, never would have won an honest primary, but they got him in by stealth, without having to confront a primary opponent.
Somebody commented on another thread that Bush gets bad numbers and looks bad, not when the leftists jump on him, but when he alienates his conservative base. That's just what he's done in California with this series of stupid maneuvers and Putsches.
Incidentally, Parsky got Bush's attention by giving a lot of money to Bush's first campaign. Bad news. IF you back a bunch of corrupt country club Republicans, this is the kind of thing you end up with.

This is all part of the Dem midterms campaign to paint all pubbies as part of the "culture of corruption". This IS corruption, and Susan Kennedy isn't a "pubbie". She's the former Executive Director of the California Democrat Party, a former Davis Administration cabinet member, a past president of NARAL in California, etc., etc.

The Foundation for Taxpayers Rights is a left wing attack dog organization whose purpose is to attack the health care and oil business and conservatives in general. On it's front page it prominently links to another org called "ArnoldWatch...who's watching Arnold?"
Here are the other headlines on it's front page;
Sink the Health Insurance Pirates & Support Universal Health Care!
Stop "Bush-Care" - Save Patients!
Help Stop Oil Company Gouging! Decide for yourselves.

Hmmm. So you believe this whole investigation is about "getting" Kennedy? Heheheh....

"Then Rove and Parsky took advantage of the conservative recall by putting in their own RINO, Arnold."
They snapped their fingers and just "put him in". I guess all those CA Republican primary voters were mind numbed robots.
"So Arnold won, the alternative seeming to be Bustamente."
Arnold won because a lot of middle of the road CA dems crossed the party line to vote for Arnold and not Bustamente. Remember, this IS CA, land of fruits and nuts. Are you claiming Rove stuffed the ballot box?
"He never, never would have won an honest primary, but they got him in by stealth, without having to confront a primary opponent."
I guess that McClintock fellow was just a figment of our imaginations.

The fact that you seem to think there was a Republican primary is certainly a figment of your imagination.
As you correctly note: "Arnold won because a lot of middle of the road CA dems crossed the party line to vote for Arnold and not Bustamente." In a straight up Republican primary, Arnold would certainly have had a tougher time getting the nomination from McClintock.

Yes, I didn't mean to say "primary", I meant "special election".
"In a straight up Republican primary, Arnold would certainly have had a tougher time getting the nomination from McClintock."
McClintock got 13% of the vote, Arnold 49%. I don't know how you can say this with a straight face.
Arnold won, let it go...jeez.

I'd say Arnold has really "grown" into his job.
How about this spin: Arnold turns corrupt after hiring a democrat chief of staff....
To: Cicero
I agree with your narrative and sadly must say it's why I and those in my household reluctantly left the Republican Party immediately after voting for Bill Simon in November 2002!!!
The campaign up to that election exposed what you've described and it "trickled down" from the Whitehouse, to the outhouse, aka the local County Republican Central Committee here where I live!!!
What's happening to the Republican Party at all levels in CA is getting more alarming and more disgusting everyday!!!

"McClintock got 13% of the vote, Arnold 49%. I don't know how you can say this with a straight face."Those percentages would NEVER have come from a Republican Primary in CA and you know it!!!
Maybe you oughta straighten your face.

This is all part of the Dem midterms campaign to paint all pubbies as part of the "culture of corruption". I've been warning about Arnold and corruption for over two years. He was in bed with the same people who sponsored Gray Davis before the recall.
