Taking the plan's provisions as a starting point, the Transnistrian "experts" and "political analysts", as well as their Moscow and Kiev colleagues who back them, reason the resemblance between Kosovo and the Transnistrian conflict. Note: a Russian polit-technologist, Stanislav Belkovskiy, stated that the Republic of Moldova, or, as he said, Bessarabia, is a non-viable state, infected with the unionist virus, and which and dreams with open eyes about how to get into Romania's arms more quickly. Unlike "Bessarabia", Belkovskiy wrote, Transnistria has set up not only a viable statehood, but also (!) "a Transnistrian nation", who has the right to self-determination. Thus, Belkovskiy's plan seemed to be temptingly simple: "Bessarabia" , which is on the right bank of the Dniestre river, joins Romania, while Transnistria, which is on the left bank , obtains its statehood. And the Transnistrian issue is solved.

Balkan Ping!
Yes, I agree that conflicts in Kosovo and Moldova have completely different background, no doubt about it. But anyway Kosovos independence will inspire separatism regimes around the world and Russia dont waste an opportunity to support such mostly communist dictators in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and later in Central Asia.
Russian polit-technologist, Stanislav Belkovskiy, stated that the Republic of Moldova, or, as he said, Bessarabia, is a non-viable state, infected with the unionist virus, and which and dreams with open eyes about how to get into Romania's arms more quickly. Unfortunately Moldavian communist doesnt want to join Romania, it would be natural step and excellent defense against Russian meddling. Of course Transdnistrian nation doesnt exist, it show how desperate Kremlin propagandist are if they try to create new nation.
A former member of the National Bolshevic Party, who is at present a "renowned political analyst", Roman Konoplyov, did not limit himself to these parallels, and unearthed even the ethnic factor at the basis of the Transnistrian conflict, in order to be able to drive it much closer to what happened in Kosovo.
Interesting people working for Putin.
His logical reasons can be resumed to the following: allegedly, in early 1990s, the absolute majority of people in "Bessarabia" (another allusion to the Belkovskiy plan) considered themselves as Romanians. And these "Romanians", as a matter of fact, promoted the policy of "ethnic purges", while fighting against the Transnistrians. Respectively, the Transnistrian people fought against the "Romanians" namely on the basis of the ethnic principle, because they did not want to transform into "Romanian" people.
Note how author who is communist claim that Moldavians are NOT Romanians.
Russias free market model ( free gas for communist dictators) /sarcasm
The moment that the Russian division (or batallion, or whatever the unit is) goes back to Russia, this Transdnister business will evaporate into thin air.
If Kosovo is secceeded from Serbia, Transdniestria will be free to do so too. What would stop Russians?
This is not Georgia, they havent common border with Russia. So their opinion is not so important.
