Thank you for posting this article.

How bout a little touch-up!

"The road of isolationism and protectionism may seem broad and inviting, yet it ends in danger and decline," railed President Bush in his State of the Union. Again and again, Bush returned to his theme.

"America rejects the false comfort of isolationism. ...

"Isolationism would not only tie our hands in fighting enemies, it would keep us from helping our friends in desperate need. ...

"American leaders from Roosevelt to Truman to Kennedy to Reagan rejected isolation and retreat."

Why would democrats use the State of the Union speech to lash out at a school of foreign policy thought that has had zero influence on the current administration? The answer is a simple one, but it is not an easy one for them to face: Their foreign policy is visibly failing, and their critics have been proven right.

But rather than defend the fruits of their policy, Dems have chosen to caricature critics who warned them against interventionism. Like all politicians in trouble, Dems know that the best defense is a good offense.

Having been plunged us into what Dems complain is an unnecessary war, The Dems now confrons the real possibility of their trategic defeat and failed re-election. The President's victory in Iraq, like the wars of Wilson and FDR, has turned to ashes in their mouths. And like Truman's war in Korea and Kennedy's war in Vietnam, The Dems have managed to leave America divided causing their followers to regret going in.

But unlike the world wars, Korea and Vietnam, the Dems refuse to believe the enemy attacked us and we had no choice. Iraq is the free world's war. Isolationists have tried to have nothing to do with it. To a man and woman, they opposed it.

Now, with an army well-entrenched in Afghanistan and another slowly exiting Iraq, and a light at the end of the tunnel, Bush seeks to counter critics who warned him not to go in by associating them with the demonized and supposedly discredited patriots of the America First movement of 1940-41. His assault is not only true about most Dem politicians, the Dems are now becoming desperate and pathetic.

"Abroad, our nation is committed to a historic long-term goal. We seek the end of tyranny in our world," said Bush. "Some dismiss that goal as misguided idealism. In reality, the future security of America depends upon it."

In all honesty, this is not only noble-sounding , but is so obviously true.

Our security rests on U.S. power and will, and not on whether Zimbabwe, Sudan, Syria, Cuba or even China is ruled by tyrants. Our forefathers lived secure in a world of tyrannies by kicking ass in the wars when the line was crossed.

As for "the end of tyranny in our world," Mr. President, "we may never see the end, but we may see a lot less."

In allowing radical Islam to work its will, by leaving an assaulted world to fend for itself as the Democratic Administrations have done, we signal to all that we no longer believe in our own ideals or even in our own courage.

But what has done more to radicalize Islam than our invasion of Iraq?

Newfound Freedom.

Who has done more to empower Islamic radicals by releasing info about Carnivore and Echelon publicly, as a Democratic publicity stunt?

It is one thing to say you believe in ideals, another to be the prisoner of some democratist ideology as the leaders of the Democratic Party seem to be.

Bush has come to believe that the absence of equal rights and freedom is the cause for growth of terrorism and that democratic elections and representative government is it's best chance at a cure.

The cause of terror in the Middle East is the exploitation of the Islamic religion by Organized Crime, on a worldwide basis, and fanatical personalities such as OBL who gain reverence as being 'more than mortal'.

All of this gained traction when OBL was ostracized by is Arabian family members for his 'kooky' behavior, and he started dealing with Saddam on new HQTR's. I believe he set up shop in Turkey or something, but they got pissed and kicked him out too.

To keep the puppet regimes and captivity of the population the Dems have tried to use tactics that have succeeded from Algeria in 1962 to Anbar province in 2005.

Given the franchise, Arab and Islamic peoples from Pakistan to Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank and Egypt have now voted for candidates with two credentials. They seemed to be devout Muslims, and they appeared dedicated to taking over responsibility for their freedom.

With interest also rising to his free-trade policy, the Dems reverted to the same tactic: Caricature and castigate critics of their own failed policies. "Protectionists," said Bush, pretend "we can keep our high standards of living, while walling off our economy."

But it was the courage and strength of Americans which gave us the highest standard of living on earth. And all the while the President is having to deal with largest trade deficits in history as American companies have outsourced , a $200 billion trade surplus for Beijing due to major department stores stocking their goods. Three million jobs were lost in the manufacturing industry, but overall there were more jobs created across new sectors.

America is happy with defending our country after 9/11 and the free trade we continue to support, but the Dems remain isolationists and protectionists. These Dems always have an an alibi (there is a reason li' is in the middle of alibi).

They are the scene of the crime.
But they are starting to run out of alibis.

JUST A TOUCHUP!!!!

Can anyone here tell the difference between Pat Buichanan and Cindy Sheahan? Well, it's not by what they say. Answer: Cindy's the one wearing the T-Shirt.

Pat Buchanan is a true conservative who remained unfaltering

Yip... sure... true unfaltering conservatives always pick Marxists as their running mates. Don't make everyone laugh.

However, the Iraq is a disaster.

Germany looked far worse at this point in time after WWII. Small minded types can't understand that we're setting up for the next 10,20,30,50 years.

Sounds like your community needs an influx of illegal immigrants to take over these juicy jobs! GWB will be glad to provide them to you. Family values moving northward. Just make sure you learn to speak Spanish, gringo!

I concur. A strong sign that Pat had lost it came when he saddled up with Lenora Fulani: Marxict-Communist America-hater.

"Pat Buchanan has been right, and is still right, about many things."
I couldn't agree with you more. My question is when did FreeRepublic get taken over by people who are so up George Bush's a** that they can't stand any one who isn't in love with our spoiled rich boy blue blood President who refuses to defend our border with Mexico? Who in their right mind would be so in love with GWB that they resort to the Democrat tactic of ridiculing someone like Buchanan?

All I have to say is this:

Pat remains in the public eye only because the MSM, including TV talk shows, keep him there. Otherwise he'd be living in obscurity in the Ozarks writing unread books.

The reasons he is propped up by the media are obvious......the first being he hates Bush.

I contributed 25 bucks to this guy years and years ago in his first primary. Ya never know then what ya know now, right?
