Hollywood Does It Again

Liberals have become so predictable, its almost boring prognosticating what theyll do next. Anything to poke a stick in the eye of the unlettered bourgeoisie. All efforts must be aimed at insulting plebian Red America.
Thus, at the Golden Globe awards, the alleged precursor to the Oscars, the winners included a plethora of tediously tendentious offerings. Brokeback Mountain, a movie about gay sheepherders whose illicit lust destroys both of their heterosexual marriages, won for best drama, best director, best original song (which some wag dubbed, Homos on the Range) and best screenplay. Actress Felicity Huffman won best actress for her portrayal of a transsexual man undergoing a sex change operation. Actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman won best actor for his portrayal of Truman Capote, a gay man who deeply involved himself with notorious drifters who had murdered an entire family in Kansas. Rachel Weisz won best supporting actress for her work in The Constant Gardener, a LeCarre take on the evils of Big Pharmaceutical. George Clooneys film, Syriana, was a conspiratorial take on Iraq and Big Oil. Tiresome.
The film industry is in precipitous decline, even in Old Europe which should be anxious to depart with their Euros for the chance to see their version of America vindicated. In Germany, home of Mohammed Atta, movie going has seen a 20.6% decline. In Spain, it is 15%. In France, 10%. In the United States, only 9% of the population goes regularly to the movies. In the 1940s, that number was 60%.
The industry studiously avoids examples of good films which make serious money. C. S. Lewiss Chronicles of Narnia, the Lord of the Rings series and The Passion of the Christ should have shown Hollywood that movies with a good moral message (and underlying Christian themes) would do well in theatres. Nevertheless, the industry continues to bleed away dollars trying to sell Americans on the triad of white liberal guilt, corporate corruption and the evils of religion.
The parallels with the news media are inescapable. As The New York Times, the Orlando Sentinel, and other papers continue to shrink in volume and ad copy, one would assume that they would examine their bottom line and perhaps adjust their journalists accordingly. Nay, they grow increasingly shrill, thrashing about like a dinosaur caught in the tar pits.
Their anger propels them to new heights of absurdity - available everyday on the web pages of fevered leftwingers, weekly in the editorial pages of the increasingly marginalized papers and monthly in the new releases from Hollywood.
Eventually, the bean counters should have their day. We can all anticipate it with joy. ***

Condeming big pharmaceuticals seems to be the chic or de jour thing to do these days. The fact is most people spouting off the evils of pharmaceutical companies don't know what they're talking about.
Some of these simpletons sound so stupid when they speak, it becomes painful to see them even open their mouths. Pharmaceutical companies spend years as well as billions of dollars in the creation, testing for success vs. side effects, and approval of new drugs designed to improve the lives of patients.
After a drug is approved, the manufacturer enjoys a 20-year patent before generic versions of the drug can be made. This is for two reasons: (1) to make a return on their multi-billion dollar investment; and (2), to make a return to stockholders. After all, those businesses which fail to make a profit for their investors - including drug companies - fail to remain in business, and in such a case, EVERYBODY suffers.
Next time, try to understand that pharmaceuticals are like every other business in America - in business to make money for its owners and/or stockholders.
Tell that to the first Republican:
"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved - I do not expect the house to fall - but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other."
Haemo is a troll. Check its "in forum" comments. Here's one from this thread:

Frank Criticizes Condi on Gay U.N. Positions
"Who cares what the Democrats are doing? I couldn't give the slightest ounce of thought to what an effete and gutless party thinks about our involvement in Iraq or gay rights.
However, I do care about allowing all people, regardless of sexuality, equal opportunity for representation. There are already a number of gay and lesbian groups - as well as Christian, Islamic, progressive and conservative groups - on this council, so it defies all reasoning to dismiss without hearing these two specific groups. Let them speak their piece and be torn apart when their weak-willed argument collapse around them."
Haemo is supporting the "gay identity" propaganda. I think it may be a re-tread.
Wrong. You're full of horse manure.

Stop. You took the troll's bait. Generally, unprovoked personal attacks like that one from people who signed up today are not to be taken seriously. Just tell the moderator.
Isn't Humpback Mountain really the story of confused bisexual cowboys who haven't reached the pinnacle of decadence by screwing their horses?
Hmmm, well, perhaps you would mind enlightening us, as opposed to spouting off content-less one-liners, no? If it's so blatantly obvious, then it's remarkable no one has posted anything to back up her claims in light of my criticism.
Besides, you attacked the author of this article before you attacked hollyweird. What happened to all that? Did you realize your position and hers followed the same path, or is it the conversation itself that entices you?
I stand by my original attack on her poorly reasoned and pointless piece of writing, and for the reasons I have repeatedly argued. It just so happens that most of my reasons behind my opinion of her happen to be related to the deplorable state of Hollywood - I attacked Hollywood in an effort to clairify why she's so wrongheaded in her argument.
That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. I support them being heard, so that they and their homosexual agenda can be laughed out of the UN and back to Berkley. Personally, I believe conservatism is strong enough to hear opposing viewpoints and the proceed to destory them.
Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick . . . . .
First Republican, as in - first Republican President.
And I was just making that point that attacking my conservatism based on my writing style is fundamentally ridiculous - as you can see, you'd be calling Lincoln out.
With all due respect, crap.
Why should anyone with sexual and psychological dysfunctions be allowed a special platform from which to spew lies? So you're on Barney Franks' team. Surprise, suprise.
The UN is already rife with homosexual propagandists anyway.
I read all your comments - or at least scanned them - since your signup date. You're just posing as a conservative (and doing a lousy job of it). Might as well quit now and go back to whatever leftist forum you're a member of and admit defeat.
You didn't even read my comment, or the article, did you? The motion was not to allow them entry - it was to allow them to be granted a hearing on application for entry. Personally, I would relish watching an organization which has already been removed from the UN for associating with the paedophiles at NAMBLA get sent home without a sob-story about being "oppressed" by Dr Rice and further fueling the idiotic liberal echo-chamber that surrounds so-called "gay persecution".

I've been "posing as a conservative" ever since I got thrown out of high school debate class for badgering an opposition member who decided to take a swipe at then-President Nixon. I've been "posing as a conservative" ever since I ran for treasurer of my local College Republicans. I've been "posing as a conservative" ever since I volunteered for Bush Sr's election campaign. So, and again, with all due respect crap.
Okay, so you're a conservative who enjoys sneering and lambasting other conservatives while promoting the "gay" identity lie.
Happy now?
I have a dislike of their funding of propaganda to put other companies out of business and infringe on private property rights.
Next time, try to understand that pharmaceuticals are like every other business in America - in business to make money for its owners and/or stockholders.
I have no problem with that, until they start putting their fingers where they don't belong. Take a look at the infringements of rights that are funded by Johnson and Johnson through the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation.
I do know what I am talking about when it comes to that particular pharmaceutical company..........
Happier - but when did I ever promote gay "identity" of any sort? I said they should get a hearing, and then be smacked down for their twisted views on sexuality. All that denying them a hearing does is create another martyr for the gay agenda, as the article clearly shows has happened.
In any case, this is totally off-topic and doesn't need to be discussed any further. I have been abundantly clear about what my stance is, both in my original post and in my clairifications here. The only way you could possibly paint me as any kind of apologist for homosexuals is by selectively reading what I've said - so, I'll reiterate; I don't support their membership, I don't support their cause, and I don't support their lifestyle.
By stating that "they" deserve a hearing of any sort is supporting the false claim of "gay identity".
They already promote their miserable agenda all over the place. The last thing anyone needs is more promotion of their lies.
Why should pedophiles get a hearing? Why should the bestiality crowd get a hearing? Why should necrophiles get a hearing? Or those who promote incest? etc etc.
Answer - no people who practice abnormal and unhealthy sexual practices should get any special treatment, any hearings, any opportunity to promote their sickness. They should have the option of receiving treatment, and they should not be allowed to propagandize, especially to kids in schools. Which they are doing en masse right now.
The very last thing the world needs is more homosexuals having platforms from which to lie.
The fact that you say this is proof that you support the "gay" agenda. Or, I suppose, it's possible you are just gravely ill-informed. In that case, do a FR search using the words "homosexual agenda" as keywords, and spend the evening reading up.
BTW, it's not off topic. Hollyweird is trying to shove "gay" agenda promoting movies down our throats.
