WASHINGTON – U.S. intelligence officials told Congress on Thursday that the disclosure of once-classified projects like President Bush's no-warrant eavesdropping program has undermined their work.

"The damage has been very severe to our capabilities to carry out our mission," CIA Director Porter Goss told the Senate Intelligence Committee, citing disclosures about a variety of CIA programs that he suggested may have been compromised.

Mr. Goss said a federal grand jury should be empaneled to determine "who is leaking this information."

About time, these leaks are meant to hurt the country and the administration. They need to be stopped and the folks involved need to be prosecuted.

Why do I have this sneaky suspicion that Nancy Pelosi wont be happy to hear this? Is she the leaker?

I watched the hearing today when Goss made this statement. The pubbies are all incensed over the leak; the dems don't seem to be bothered by it at all. In fact, at one point Rockerfeller acused the executive branch of being the leaker, at which point Director FBI was mad as all get out and told Rocky he had no right to make such a statement. I still think Rocky is the leaker -- it was he strategy as documented in his memo.

All those a-holes who were screaming about the Plame leak can just shove it. I want to hear how the revelation of a CIA agent's name--even on their terms of what Plame was about--is some issue of national security, while the revelation of an entire PROGRAM that exposed at least one terror attack is not.

Come on, DUmmies, let's hear you claim this isn't something that should be investigated, and then tell us again how you're not against the defense of our country.

Sorry if I got spit in anyone's face, but this subject just incenses me.

I think every GOP Congresscritter that gets any chance in front of a microphone, either radio or TV...from today forward should call for that investigation...

Just as the dems bring up Bush's supposed "guilt"...in spying on American citizens...blech.

Nothing to see here folks, just the usual treasonous senators WVa., in particular who needs to go to jail, but you know that will never happen. Valerie Plame was far greater a crime then this obvious act of security breach by and tipping off the scum rats who wish to kill us.

There is absolutely no doubt that the leaking-perp can be ID'd. I just hope W & Co. are game for the hunt and kill. Since congress was being briefed, there's little doubt that the leaking traitorous B_sturd was none other than one of our elected-Rats. I WANT TO SEE WHOMEVER BEHIND BARS!

Release of this information has potential to cause exceptionally Grave Damage to our national security. It was illegal to release it. The whistle blower excuse will not cut it because whoever leaked the info had already signed non-disclosure forms and they are punishable under the law. There should be outcry from every level of government on making example of this case. During time of war....

Yes! Line up a grand jury and a tough prosecutor and throw every involved reporter and editor in jail until they fully reveal their sources.

IF they could do that with a fake crisis like Plamegate, they can certainly do it for a real crisis that has seriously compromised our national security and undermined our government.

are they really that stupid? if you had a plan and it was exposed, wouldn't you scrap it and come up with a new plan? a normal person would, , but look who we are dealing with.
