"I do not trust these clowns in DC or Austin to go in and tamper with constitutions."

No Constitutional change is necessary to cease birth citizenship.

1) "Birthrights" are endowed from parents - illegals have no right to confer citizenship just because of the geographic location of a baby-drop. That's a no brainer.

2) The Fourteenth amendment's article 5 gives Congress specific authority to regulate its implementation, unlike others that use a term "shall not be infringed" - yet is, repeatedly.

Congress has failed America - not the law.

I concur with what old republic stated above. To remove birthright citizenship WOULD require a federal constitutional change, and at least one state (Texas). I am not certain about the other states, but strongly suspect that their constitutions would be affected.

I believe that our energies are better focused on demanding that the current laws be upheld. This may come as a shock to many, but we already have a guest worker program for Mexico and Canada!

Exceptions for NAFTA Countries (Mexico and Canada) If you are filing for a national from Mexico and are applying for initial classification as a TN (Trade NAFTA), you will not need to complete the Form I-129. More information is available on the Department of State TN Visa website about applying at a U.S. Consular post abroad. http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-129.htm
