Welcome to the world of "Rollerball" or "Blade Runner." Don't be bitter. The Stillers are gonna win.

I grew up in the 40's and almost nothing is the same now. Especially people. I second that!

I second that! They all have pride but very few have dignity. It appears they have confused the two.

Yes, values have been inverted. It's an entirely different world. Just today I was thinking about writing an essay about all the changes in people and society since then. I quickly realized no but those with a similar background would give a big rat's hind-end. The changes have been pretty dramatic, haven't they?

The changes have been pretty dramatic, haven't they? Very dramatic, most people have no idea of how fast things are changing, especially those under 35. They don't see it yet. There has been more change in the last 100 years than in the previous 1000 years. I can remember when our neighbor brought the first TV in the county. There was only one snowy station.

People don't understand our government was created to defend individual rights anymore. They ("free traders") want us to forget that we have a constitutional right to elected representation. They think if they harangue and insult, we'll forget that their trading system, run unconstitutionally by the WTO, abrogates our rights to elected representation. When its clear to any thinking free citizen that our laws are being changed to suit the unconstitutional global institutions, they try to stifle discussion with mockery and insults, a technique pioneered by communist dissidents.
Yes, the changes in this country have been dramatic.

I quickly realized no but those with a similar background would give a big rat's hind-end.I would. I'm a student (read collector) of WWII things...homefront, mostly. I've read dozens of 40's era magazines; so I understand how different it really is.
I would LIKE to hear your take on people and values at the time. Of course, I knew my Grandparents well, and have gotten glimpses into the past via the magazines...but there weren't any articles entitled: "How People Are Today"...LOL.

Ain't that the truth!

Yes, the changes in this country have been dramatic. We used to increase our standard of living by increasing wages, inventing new and better technology, and improving products and customer service. Those are the hallmarks of a strong nation with a robust economy.
Now we are told that our standard of living is increasing because we can buy poorly-made products at a greatly reduced price.
The psychological implications of this attitude are enough to doom us.

There's only one way that the masses of the world would allow such things to happen.
