Never mind the reaction of the "Arab street". The Arabs had better be a lot more concerned about the reaction of the "American Street".

I agree with you. Why are we even worried about what they think?
I have heard it said that a Democracy can only be considered a true democracy once it has reached the point were it can be openly criticized by those who live in it.
Perhaps we need a similar saying for Religions? Maybe a religion can only be considered modern and civilized when it can endure criticisms and ridicule from those outside it without throwing a tantrum or going on the war path.
Obviously Islam would fail the test.

Why turn the gun on yourself? How about grabbing a gun and shooting an Islamofascist?
To: crushelits
Intelligent people have been criticizing islam in writing for hundreds of years....But it wasn't until someone drew pictures for the muslims, that they realized they were being insulted.

"Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef said Riyadh considered the cartoons an insult to Mohammad and all Muslims."
Well too bad. I consider Saudi Arabia and insult to all Non-Muslims. Wonder when Saudi Arabia is going to let single non-Muslim women travel to and FROM Saudi Arabia. Wonder when they will allow women to drive? Wonder when Saudi Arabia will allow a Muslim to convert? Wonder when Saudi Arabia will allow women to shop without a male escort? In other word cry me a river....

If images of Muhammed are verboten to Muslims, then they can't know what he looks like. You could publish the picture of a pig in a turban, call it "Muhammed" and no one could contest it.

"Any insult to the Holy Prophet (
Peace Piss Be Upon Him) is an insult to more than 1 billion Muslims and an act like this must never be allowed to be repeated," Afghan President Hamid Karzai said in a statement.
There. More better.

Mr. Hamid Karzai just in case you bump into this thread, I don't care if you think this is an insult or not.
You better get used to it.
This is what democracy is all about.
