The Atlanta paper published an article along those lines a few years ago. Some study was done that indicated the average panhandler could receive about $73,000.00 per year tax free. This figure was based on an average daily "take" of $200.00.

There was a feature article in the WaPo a few years ago about a local panhandler. He lived in the exurbs and drove to the Metro every day to park and commute into downtown. He made over 20K a year, owned a car, and paid rent on a decent apartment. Of course he did not pay taxes. This was his full-time job, and he admitted that he was pretty successful doing it.

Free enterprise...I love it...Wonder if it requires training...I could use a part time job...
